Ezekiel, first, he does have a backup generator, but that is not the point. If he is using his own generator most of the time, why are they sending him all those big bills? What are they billing him for? You may not realize is that the ECG continues to bill its customers at normal rate for non-service and despite the erratic power supply. They are billing as if power is flowing normally and abundantly. Dont we deserve better than that? How about some discounts or billing for services actually provided. Why? I think the Honorable wants to make that point at the highest level and to give the many silent Ghanians a chance - Ghanaians deserve better than that.

Jojo, if you are living in the U.S, then you should be the first to know that over here in the U.S, almost every Senator and Congressman/woman has his or her own business but that does not make them ineffective. In fact, they are head figures or owners but they don't go work there 7-8 hours everyday. Their businesses are being managed by employed employees. In the case of Hon. Ken Agyepong, he is the owner of all the said cold stores and that doesn't mean that he goes to every location of his business to work everyday. He only goes there briefly, periodically and when parliament is not in-session. Do you think all NDC MPs and the Speaker of Ghana Parliament are not aware that he has so many businesses? Do you think parliament doesn't have sign-in register that records attendance and maintained by Parliament Clerk? If he doesn't go to parliament to work, he is the first person who would not accept his salary because he is a principled man.
Jojo, you failed to discuss the article and the issues he raised. Instead, you took it personal and attack his business. That's why Ghana is not growing. You are in America and I'm sure you know better than million of Ghanaians living in Ghana so if you get the opportunity to writing anything, make sure you do so informatively and educating your readers and or general public. It would go a long way to help transform Ghana if you make your writings devoid of personal attack, hate mongering or partisanship. Stay blessed.

"THIS" is singular.
"THESE" is plural.
So Kennedy Agyapong should have said:
"If you should add up the bills for just THESE two months, it is Ghc154, 000" because "two months" is plural!
Two months IS PLURAL and can only be replaced by the PLURAL demonstrative pronoun, THESE, and not by the singular demonstrative pronoun, "THIS".

Grammar teacher, the "is" here refers to the "adding up" which is singular; it does not refer to the "bills" as you are assuming. There are so many ways to interpret someone's writings; so do not be too harsh at others solely on the way you interpret items on the web. Sometimes, we must read in between the lines to ascertain what the other person means because what we write is a means of communication that tries to bring different minds onto the same page. This is just an advice, please.

I understand that HABA failed to see that the statement was placed in quotation marks, to indicate that, those were the words of Ken Agyapong, but it is still grammatically wrong. Just as " Aside his job as a legislator..." from the journalist is confusing.
We should not be satisfied with mediocrity, especially from those who are in the writing business. Why should their words be open to anybody's interpretation, rather than what they mean to say?
Excellence is a better teacher than mediocrity. The lessons of the ordinary are everywhere. Truly profound and original insights are to be found only in studying the exemplary.

How can you be thus callous? Did you get all your English quizzes and exams 100% during your High School going era and College period? As humans, especially blacks, we are surely bound to commit mistakes because English language isn't our first language. God did not create us whites. It is just by the grace of God that we are able to read and write a scanty English thus if you think you are proficient, affable, and master of English, use your ideas or knowledge wisely and allow others to learn from you. Stop hitting your own chest or else, you gotta become a gargantuan braggart and boastful.
By the way, how did you deduce to know that it's Hon. Agyepong who made such error? Could it not had been committed by the reporter or the journalist? How do you substantiate your claim of allegation?

Yes, i support the decision that, you took the bill to the speaker of the house. But my question is, as lawmakers, when are you going to draft an effective energy policy which will be a national one, for every successive government to implement it. We need our manufacturing industries to grow for our hard working youths to secure jobs, to aleviate the poverty and the unemployment the nation is going through.
