corruption is encouraged at the highest office of the land , the mahamas are now in less than 2 years the richest family in Ghana worth over 3 billion dollars / euros according to Forbes . not until we organize a proper revolution that will sweep away this azaa constitution that protects the criminal elite we can never progress or develop . even America was born in blood and the rebuilt it based on true democracy and rule of law . they now have a system that through sometimes trial and error gets better every day and surprising enough has become the oldest country with a system of governance over 200 years old . In our case every tribal group comes and thinks their time has come so rob the people blind and do nothing to serve the interests of the people . The stakeholders of the Akans need to wake up and realize its time to arise and separate ourselves from the rest and build a nation and a country worthy for our children . there is only one project working for this ndc govt and that is lets rob the country blind as long as our mandate lasts . When Prof. Kwesi Botchwey was the minister of economics in Ghana during Rawlings time, I can still remember those years as a kid but I knew what economics was all about. They was a hyperinflation in the country and at a certain point he was nickname Botwenomics. He had a budget every 6 months for Ghana and things were not working well till Ghanaians were so fed up. It contributed enormously to the losing of NDC to NPP as far as I can remember.
When president Kufour came to power things were better and there was development everywhere in the country. Overheard bridges were constructed both in Kumasi and Accra. The value of the cedi to dollar was almost the equal. Today the cedi to a dollar is a big story. If Prof. Kwesi Botchwey has a sincere admonishment for the government of Ghana he should bring it up and team up with his experience for the well fare of dear nation. Ghana is for us Ghanaians and no one else. We should not expect anyone to build our country for us.

it is about time we sacrificed a little bit in certain social sectors and push lots of resources into real sectors that can jump start the economy.

building six classroom blocks here and there with an inflated figure will not provide the economic turn around. like it is said, if you keep doing the same thing the same way you get the same results.

i believe it is about time some sectors like tourism and manufacturing leads the economic drive with pragmatic policies that will promote local investment. that is the only way to promote the kind of confidence to push the kind of growth we all desire.
