We generally acknowledge govt's effort in ensuring self-sufficiency in rice production. However we need to be honest with the figures that we are churning out as achievements in rice production. Varying and conflicting figures are given on different platforms which portrays disengenuity. I challenge every Ghanaian to verify from rice distributors and retailers if they even have 10 percent local rice in their warehouses. Some distributors don't even have a grain in stock.
So the question I ask Dr Nyamadi is; where is the 56 percent local rice produced? What purpose does it serve us to be decietful.? These inaccurate lies will not create a magical bumper harvest to provide the solution .
