Mahama is very disapointing. I wonder if he knows how we are struggling to pay the fees for our children. He is doing everything posible to destroy the future of our children. My children just called to inform me that, Mahama has withdrawn subsidies on the fees and that, they have been told to pay upfront of 2000 Ghana cedis, whiles they work on the rest. As if that is not enough for him, He is encouraging University authorities to construct a boot, from where, they will still exploit our children. What is interesting here is that, they have changed the name from toll collecting booth to security post. What at all is wrong with Mahaha? Is this man a curse on Ghana or what!

The next election - I will vote to keep NPP out of power. In the last elections, I voted to keep NDC in power, this time around it is teach NPP a lesson. If you cannot allow our elected to rule then you cannot be allowed to rule. We must make politicians know that lies, idle talks and politicking off season, making their opponents look bad instead of telling us what they can do better will not help

There was actual celeration among the big guns of Legon who claimed he was sacked because of their petition.
No wonder they are rebuilding the structures.
Meanwhile, come Election 2016, I really hope Mahama finds some other person to mobilse votes for him in Likpe. Gbevlo-Lartey always did the dirty job for him but this time round, it will be DIFFERENT.

Quite rightly, there must be some regulation here to advise Legon on what IS BEST FOR ALL and there should not be any political interference either. I gues that the Vice Chancellor will soon have to go if he does not know the extent of his remit. Yes, there should be a barrier but some directive/agreement will need to be reached between Legon, family reps and the government. It can NEVER be one way.

In the late 1960s long before I entered university (not UGL), a senior friend of mine who was a student of UGL often told me that the university was like a state within a state. He would tell me that the campus had a bank (GCB), supermarket (GNTC), bookshop and a police station, among other facilities.
He would tell me that even if a student committed a crime in town but was able to run to the campus, not even the police could apprehend him without the express permission of the VC. I believe that mentality still holds sway among the university authorities, however erroneous that notion it may be.

So the National Security Outfit is still trying to be bogged down by the Legon issue to the detriment of more pressing security issues in the country - we know of the threat of Boko Haram activities, and the cocoa smuggling to Ivory Coast which should concern National Security more than Legon's Toll Boot saga.
I would say the NatSec agency are doing so out of disgrace, and to try ti justify the unjustifiable acts of Gbevlo Lartey! NatSec should not concern themselves with planning permits and road works. If they should, what advice have they given the government concerning the sanitation situation in Accra? That should be a greater threat to national security than Legon's roads.

Currently, there is a container structure serving as a security post at the Okponglo entry. If you ask me, I will say it is unsightly. If UG is building a more permanent structure, that should not be a problem. The new security post is further up and will rather reduce traffic build-up than the present one.
Again the new structure under construction is on both sides which means, the practice of taxis crossing lanes to go through security procedures as is the case presently will stop and make driving safer at that point.
If it is about lack of building permit as the govt is saying, then I hope the UG authorities will have to secure one.
