  I'm relieved a high profile educationist has isolated the core of the problem causing the deterioration in education, especially in the rural areas.
  
  The teachers on the sandwich course don't appreciate that they have balance their studies with their duties of teaching.
  
  Dominic, you are a true prof and professional. You are unlike other lecturers who turn themselves into spin doctors, hoping to attract political recognition.

  Very soon, traditional attending of classes in person will be a thing of the past. With technology, students will learn and take exams online. Teachers will be paid based on their pass on fail rate. There will even be tests and systems to weed out racists, inward looking tribalist, sexist etc in occupations like the police, teaching, medicine, law etc...it's getting there and u heard it from me, ghfuo!

  Nowadays businesses and government organisations have stopped demanding Secondary School Certificate or Basic Education Certificate.
  
  Each of these certificates are important. For example for many tertiary graduates the only certificate that can tell whether one can speak good English or whether one has adequate knowledge of Mathematics is the Secondary School Certificate.
  
  Similarly the only certificate that can tell whether a tertiary graduate has basic knowledge of Ghanaian history, culture, basic agriculture and the basic geography of West Africa is the Basic Education Certificate.
