As long as we tap into the resources of both the diaspora and home i am confident there is no problem we cant fix or sustainable solution we can not implement to give our people a better standard and future . Omanhene kwasea pepeni Mahama in his small-mindedness, tribalism saturated with mistrust and hate for the Akans fueled by the ayigbe treachery has appointed incompetent fools who would collapse any economy be it the USA , Germany , Japan or Canada . In fact the caliber of his favorites are so weak i doubt they could manage even a roadside chop bar for week successfully talk less an economy of 25 million strong. NDC's experiment with leadership from the north will cost them dearly as Ghanians will never again trust a northerner no matter which party fields them and they will be lucky if the party doesnt totally disintegrate into nothingness . The basic principle of democracy is to enable the active participation of the majority thus tapping into the potentials of the majority and secures the unity and progress of the people , pepeni has deviously managed to sideline the influence of the Akans and the majority of all Ghanians so is in effect and illegitimate govt that's only focused on robbing and stealing , to hell with everything else as he simply doesn't care about what he knows doesn't belong to him . He is a traitor and no indemnity clause should save him from his reckless selfishness and corruption but should be made to answer and be punished adequately either through the courts or lynching him in the streets. yes its time for a bloody uprising or war to rid us of this menace forever . His ministers are not only stupid but retarded so must also be hung from the highest tree tops for not resigning when they knew they could not perform or had no plans . Their families and children should also be bdeaten up for enjoying while the rest of the nation suffered . We all know that there is no way pepeni will see the end of his mandate without a serious conflict or peacefully talk less of even attempting a de facto third term. one thing we now all know is that the ayigbe and pepefuo have a set of values and mindset which is incompatible with the rest of us and its a mistake to remain in the same country with them so we should split the country either peacefully through negotiations or with a war whichever comes first .

By the way, I am not Ashanti, far from it, but the fact of the matter is, what today we call modern Ghana is an alliance created by us non-Ashantis and the whitemen from the coastal trading forts and posts. We non-Ashantis actually brought the white colonialist into our African disputes. If any part of Ghana is to be termed as pan-Africanist then it has to be first and foremost Ashanti.

You must rather learn history properly.

The powerful Mossi kingdom with centre in Burkina Faso was not a vassal to the Asante. Rather, the Dagbon and Gonja areas were, Dagbon more so, by virtue of one side getting Asantes to intervene in a chieftaincy dispute on its side.

Asante control over Dagbon effectively fell off after the Sagrenti War of 1847, not in 1885. All the areas which became known as TVT fell under British control and Asantes signed an agreement not to try to exercise control over those areas again. My own great, great grandfather was at the head of the table at one such "palava" to bring peace about.

The British did not use any pretext of stopping slave trade to declare a Protectorate over the North. The Fante Ekem Ferguson practically cajoled them into doing that. And the slave trade was real and horrific. Continuing raiding for slaves was destabilising the legitimate trade which was bad for the imperialist mercantile interests.

Yes, some coastal Africans brought the British into their disputes with the Asantes but what do you expect them to do when faced with marauding forces which killed off 1000s of their captives simply because the slave markets had tried off? It was in the interest of the Brits to help and they did!

To call Asantes [and their allies] pan-Africanist is to show a gross understanding of what the phrase means! How can predatory Africans who wage war on fellow Africans in order to procure booty and captives be pan-Africanists? In what sense?

Pan-Africanists love fellow Africans and don't discriminate against them, not to mention consider them as objects to be captured and use as slaves or kill in grissly rituals. Pan-Africanism doesn't mean fighting Europeans in order to assert your own narrow selfish interests over others, fellow Africans, forcing them to be supplying you slaves and tributes. Go and read Wilks' The Asantes and find out what I am writing about. Enough of this romantic Asante ananse folktales. I heard it today again from a grandson of Agyeman Prempeh I himself. It is behind all the pride and prejudice directed at even descendants of people who helped the Asantes to become powerful. After all, were it not due to the "Hausa" (actually Northerners) bow and arrow men, the Akyems would have dealt the a decisive blow to the rising Asante power and history would have been different.

And finally, my own people, the Anlos, fought on the side of the Asantes against the British up to the Sagrenti War. When arms supplies from the Elmina coastal areas to the West was blocked, the Anlos became the major source of ammunitions to the Asante forces. I don't think what my ancestors did was pan-Africanist at all! It was just pure self interest at work! In fact, I used to be ashamed of the history but I have put all that behind me. I am more than happy to tell it as it were then in order to right the wrongs of the past.

Eastern and Ashanti regions ahould have got about 90% of the votes but NDC was able to get almost a third of the whole votes. So let's keep quiet and be one to enable us win the 2016 elections. He also knows that he will be vetted by Parliament before assuming office and that a person holding a nationality of a country in addition to being a Ghanaian cannot be a minister of state. The President also knows and he would have been screened before the appointment offered.
If you have evidence that he is a BRITISH CITIZEN, please wait and provide the evidence when he is being vetted.

I knew Akwasi Oppong Fosu at Tepa when he was the DCE. He was very hardworking and transformed the township. he also dealt with criminals and put people to order. I hope he will be recalled later.

NDC out to punish Ashanti. The fact of the matter is that the Political strategy adapted by the govt is to financially starved the Ashantis. The govt content that that Ashantis are proud and and thing they are all in all in the country as a results of their wealth. Consequently the govt is systematically stiffling the Ashantis in their businesses.Ashant region pay more in electricity than any region in the country. Ashanti experiences more power failure than any region in the country. There is daily power failure in Ashanti, Kumasi for example lasting at least 6 hours every day. A friend from the north visiting Kumasi said there is power failure in the north once a week and it last not more than 2 hours.
It is now an open secret confesion by some big shots in NDC that Ashanti are proud because of their wealth and the govt will do everything to make Ashantis poor so that they will be less proud,and not use their wealth to oppose the govt. High taxes/ tarifs low infrastructures. The sad part of this saga is that some leaders of Ashanti are in bed with this govt secret agenda.When president mMahama described the Akyems as the world bank for Galamsey, Okyehene spoke out in defence of his people.When Asantehene had placed embargo on funeral celebrations and noise making in Ashanti, John Mahama came to Kumasi the seat of Ashanti, and openly played the music YENTE OBIAA loud in his convoy in the sreets of Ashanti, and further added that Ashantis are ungrateful even if the govt tares Kumasi roads with gold Ashantis will still complain. WHAT AN TRIBAL INSULT TO THE PEOPLE OF ASHANTI. AND OUR LEADERS COULDNOT DO WHAT OKYEHENE SAW AS A JUSTIFIABLE REBUTTAL

Can't you for once think of yourselves as Ghanaians instead of whichever tribe you are from? Who cares whether you are an Akwapim or a Frafra or a Fante or from one of the numerous tribes in Ghana? You are all Ghanaians bound by the laws of Ghana, and by the way, no tribe is superior to the other.

There are more pressing issues facing our country which need to be addressed. You would better serve the country by giving constructive ideas on how to find solutions to these problems.

In case you have forgotten about inter-tribal marriages, everyone has a relative from another tribe. Therefore by insulting an Ewe (for example), you're insulting your own relative or perhaps a parent. Think about it and stop this myopic behaviour.

What we need is the full presidential system with complete separation of powers. There must also be three tiers of government. The national, the regional and the district or municipal level. These tiers must have elected but not appointed officials.

The Bank of Ghana (BOG) has no Eastern Regional headoffice. I don´t believe that the BOG has accurate data of the economic activity in the at least 12 Akyem districts which make up more than half the population on the region. The GDP and GNI of these Akyem districts are very high. They stem from:

Gold mining
Diamond mining
Cocoa
Oil Palm (the largest in West Africa)
Timber
Software development
etc

The money supply and capital in the at least 12 Akyem districts are wholly inadequate. BOG must remove impediments to the setting up of rural banks in these districts and encourage ADB and GCB to open branches in these districts.

The government must further ensure that wholly owned Ghanaian banks, including rural banks, get at least 80% of the banking revenue.
