Surely, we must guard against being dictated to by outsiders. But when we neglect our own responsibilities for way too long, forcing us to solicit the same outsiders we are trying to keep out of our affairs for Financial Assistance, we give them the chance to offer suggestions as this.
Not every Foreign entity is predatory to us. Not every Foreign entity is inimical to our progress. Not every Foreign entity wishes us to remain in pre-historic primitivity. We must be astute enough to rightly filter the lot out there for those who genuinely mean well, and humble enough to consider their suggestions. We cannot continue to turn our heads to let our leaders loot us, left and right, to empty our Treasury, and arrogantly claim we do not need any outsider to dictate to us, and then run right back to the same outsiders to beg them to lend us money to buy our babie's diapers, Sugar, Milk, Gas (Petrol), Kerosene, etc.
We must not naively believe some of our own folks can never hurt us, or all our folks look out for our collective good. If it were not for Foreigners, for example, we could still be under the Shackles of Slavery.
So, chill out, brother! Be pragmatic even as you dream big for our Nation. The Freedom of Information Bill is increasingly becoming a necessity in any arsenal we could muster for effectively controlling Corruption. That Bill plus the stripping of our Constitution of immunity Clauses that shield powerful Politicians, like the President, must be duly promulgated promptly--if we ever want to be really free. We may have our Political freedom, but not Economic Freedom from both within and without. We did not push the Brits out of our Land only to have some of our own impose on us, or milk us at will.
May the Lord help us all!
Long Live Ghana!!!

Fellow Ghanaians, we cannot deny the obvious, now. When we have a guy called "Crooke" and another called "Bishop" collaborate to push the Government for more transparency by passing the stalled RTI, we must not let the hint be lost on us.
We are in deep sh*t! If the International entities like Mr. Crooke's are now pushing the Government to be more transparent, we better rest assured that lots of heinous dirty secrets regarding why our Nation is cruising faster and faster into an Economic abyss exist.
Let's see if the Mahama Administration would have the b*lls to request that the Parliament immediately pass the RTI. And by the way, doesn't it seem the Parliament itself is scared of its own shadow? It does not have to wait for some Mr. Crooke and Mr. Bishop to prod it to pass the Freedom of Information Bill that has for ages been ignored.
It smacks of grotesque self-preservation at the expense of all other Citizens that the Parliament would deny us that Bill. I would suggest that all true patriots start considering soliciting the Wikileaks and other progressive intrusive Data Mining entities with the necessary capabilities to come to our aid by digging up the deepest hidden atrocities our leaders are perpetrating against us.
I have long suggested that we ought to find a reputable Legal entity to lead us solicit the Hague, (World Court), for making the massive Corruption that plague us a crime against Humanity. I know that is a tall order to pursue. But we must try to make our point clear.
We are tired of how one Political camp charges its incumbent opponent for crimes against the State. But when it comes to Power it does the same crap that it has been charging the other of, and nothing gets done to change the course for the better. Our Politicians have no excuse to keep us in the doldrums for so long, while they lift themselves up with our resources.
Our People are played like clueless kids in kindergarten. The Politicians know most of us are not knowledgeable enough and hardly know, for example, the difference between Futures and Stocks, let alone understanding how, say, Procurement, is supposed to work. So, they always easily devise new schemes to milk us dry, and we would not know until the effects of their malevolence rear their heads as in the current case of hard times.
Wake up, Ghana!! Let's get busier scrutinizing every State Pesewa earned, borrowed and spent. Let's demand to know how our Assets are dispensed of. We have the Web to assist us peep through the dark crevices. Let us find our lost treasures and make relentless efforts to retrieve them. Let us begin to tightly hold on to our Natural Resources. How many of us know how our Oil Blocks, for instance, were sold off to various firms? Or, we do not need to know?
Folks, Democracy does not start and end with only Voting. But that is our current clique of Politicians would rather have us believe. Aquiescing to them, we give up our birthrights for only their existential comfort. We deserve better, Folks. We deserve better.
Ghanaians must wake up- KICK OUT NDC
