The finest opportunity Africa has is to let ECOWAS work and then have an internal African cooperation between ECOWAS and SADAC. Africa in itself is a big market. If we did this, we will become the strongest continent and other struggling and dwindling continents like Europe will not deal with Africa on their own terms. But as usual, we do not know what we have so we still prefer to go round with begging bowls. Selfishness makes a country like Nigeria refuse other ECOWAS countries to freely move their goods there. Ivory coast is also learning these bad acts ith dirty tricks. Benin does same. Ghana has opened its doors widely to all these other countries. The fact is we must let ECOWAS work and ECOWAS must learn from SADAC and tie the not with them. Let's leave these white rats who can't see their future clearly. In the slave trade era, they came with whiskey and gun powder and took our strong men and women workforce and used them to build their cities etc. today, we have the, eyeing our raw materials and they don't need our workforce because they have machines and computers to produce in mass but do not have or in some cases do not want to touch their raw materials and rather want to rape our lands again. Who are the thinkers in Africa? Marrying many women, buying luxury stuff, stealing and looting state funds and pleasure are the priorities of alllll our leaders. Oh Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah we need you again. Esau foolishly sold his birth right to his brother Jacob. The bible says he later sought after it and cried badly but it was too late. What we need now is not signing away our destiny. Les hold our hunger for a while and think. We can't live in plenty and be so hungry. But for the kickbacks, favours, ghost names, paying for undone jobs, cronyism, affluence and foolishness, Africa will not be in haste to sign such deals. Let's act together and call the shot. Say NO to EPA. Africa unite.

Every right thinking person knows that this is not a good deal. Why bound yourself for 20 years for such a meager amount? $6.4billion is nothing if shared among ECOWAS countries. Further more, even in 2years it will be valueless let alone 20years. This deal will make ECOWAS countries importers and keep them in perpetual deficits. I hope the president and his team will not sign this deal because of the 60 million Euro they are in die need for. The government must reduce public sector expenditure, encourage private sector establishment to reduce imports and eradicate corruption at all levels. What about assets declaration enforcement, consolidation of government officials salaries to eliminate fringe benefits which are several millions more than officials salaries, abuse of fuel coupons, procurement malpractices etc. All these can cut down waste to avoid overdependence on foreign aids. Is it not frustrating when you are unable to get a promised money at the right time for the right course? What is more self gratifying than to get your own funds to do what is important and beneficial to you and to your people without constraints? I know they are holing the 60million Euro pending the signing of the agreement. If you cannot clean your house people will help you to mess it the more.

There is the urgent need to diversify both our exports and markets. All our eggs are in the basket of the EU.The reason the EPA appears to be forced down our throat.
You must stem up trade with the USA.

The treacherous things that compromised Hannah Tetteh has been doing inside ECOWAS will fail. So if this EU rep or whatever thinks he has deal then he's living in a fools paradise

All what Mahama and his govt are interested in is Ghana's share of the 6.4 billion euro bribe, as EU put it, "to manage the cost of adjusting to the EPA" by ECOWAS. For Mahama, his govt needs that money badly to finance its so-called "better Ghana" agenda. He believes his acquiescence in the deal will also make his govt being liked more by the EU and will, ultimately, help him carrying through his policies towards winning the next election with their help. What a delusion! Nkrumah may be turning over in his grave with disbelief!
