Taking three hours of millions of workers time is substantially high enough to impose additional strain on the ailing and diminutive national economy. Shooting from the hip policies without first studying the over-all effect is a major cause of administrative failures.
No amount of forum suggestions may work without added suggestion to policy makers to exercise visionary sense of foreseeability at all levels of administrative initiatives.
Just as initiation of simple policies can create jobs and opportunities for the public, unwise administrative directives, on the other hand, may have their indirect detrimental effects on a much higher cognitive level.
The amount of psychopathic data that has been dispensed by this administration has enough material for a dozen dramas - ranging from University gate demolition to unwitty one-man show parliamentary performance over Constitutional Amendment.
It is no wonder that we are in this mess.

Comment to:Accident claims one life at Apam Junction
To be truthful, I think all Ghanaian drivers need more training in how to drive safely.
I know the conditions of our roads and highways don't help that much but still all Ghanaian drivers are a collective menace on the roads and highways.
The last time I went home for a family visit, I was horrified by what was happening on our roads with the police watching nonchalantly.
No control whatsoever by the police while these drivers with their killing machines go to work, wreaking havoc on the roads. Bribery and corruption have eaten into every fabric of the Ghanaian lifestyle.
The police are only out with their big "beer bellies" at the road check points for their "ice water" from these killer drivers.
The driver licensing offices in Ghana are all goldmines of bribery and corruption for those who run them, giving out driving licences to illiterate drivers who can't even read or understand road signs.
The first time I went home, I almost strangled a younger brother of mine in whose car I was hitching a ride. He went through a 'stop' sign without stopping and I freaked out. I went 'ballistic' thinking not only did he not know how to drive, I also made it known him that he was stupid to boot. I schooled him in road signs letting him know that road signs are there for a reason and that he should obey them.
His only defence was that everyone drove like that in Ghana and boy was he right about that!!!!
When we drove into the big city, I felt like I was in a mad house because of the way people were driving. Exactly like what my brother said. No law and order anywhere in the city in terms of driving. Each car and driver was for himself or herself, other drivers and cars around be damned and the most astonishing thing was, seeing the cops sitting in their parked police cars and doing nothing about this chaos and mayhem I was witnessing.
So my brother was proven right that no single driver in Ghana obeyed road signs or even followed 'common sense' driving.
So any wonder our roads have been turned into "death traps" by the conditions of the roads themselves and indesciplined, illiterate and killer drivers?

the best thing to do if the license is to renew the license every 2 yrs for the owners of the license should do the renewal in person. Would the "BIG" guys do this is person or they would send their subordinates to do that for them because they are too "busy". The picture id should be renewed every 5 yrs. The renewal would make it easy to flush out the fake ones. For this to be effective, there must be a well-trained personnel with central data base of all licensed drivers for easy access. The question is how many registered licensed drivers in the country? How much is paid for the renewal and can the Ghana Revenue audit dvla to ascertain the veracity of money collected from the licensed drivers. Can we trust the police to report those who drive without license?

WHAT IS NEW ON GHANA ROADS ARE THEY GOING TO LEARN?
this stupidity is not done anywhere in the developed world- parliament must reject this .
what is normaly done is whereby there is an accident which the road experts had able to detect that the Driver did not paid attension to a road sign which was the cause of the accident- then it is reasonable for the Driver to go through a Routine learning . if you want to do something please get it right to stop creating a loophole for corruption.
this can only get a suport whereby there are massive changes on our roads which the Drivers are not used to and is causing accidents.

Another avenue to collect bribes. It took six months. Nov 2013-April 2014 to get a replacement of my old drivers license in Kumasi. How long will it take if one does not pay a bribe to renew a drivers license.

YHEY JUST CREATING MORE AVENUES FOR CORRUPTION.TJIS IS WASTE OF TIME AND SENSELESS SUJUSTION
Govt stop looting
This policy is extremely shoddy. I think renewal of licenses should be extended to every four years and not two.
Our policy formulators churn out policies that have corrupt undertones.
It is another opportunity to cheat!
Won't our leaders ever get out of corrupt practices? All they think about is what next for money grabbing. How can one who is good enough to drive forget how to do so in two years?
