Does the government have to hound our ears with this news? Then name the countries and the quantity of such orders. The whole branding of the Kumasi factory is faulty to the core because the general population would shun such shoes thinking they are only worn by buga-buga people.

The company must look within the Ghanaian market. We are not going to supply any country. The potential local demand far exceeds the current supply. The shoes must be priced taking salary levels into consideration. If imported shoes cost so much it does not mean locally produced shoes must cost the same amount.
In order to combat smuggling some measures must be thought off. It is heartening that the shells are dropping from the eyes of the blind who runned down these companies and they are beginning to see light.

Your concerns are valid but nothing wrong exporting some of the shoes if they have the capacity to do so. It's all about more market and that creates more jobs running two to three shifts.

Mahama should not take no credit when it comes to Kumasi Shoe Factory and it is an insult to military for taking their achievement and efforts. If Ghanaians may recall the Military borrowed 50 million dollars to partner owners for the shoe factory to revive the un-function factory.IMANI was opponent to the move by the military not the government for fear of monopoly by DIHOC.It is a shame for government who refuse to assist the military and the military with their wisdom went to borrow 50 million dollars to purchase and partners its owners and bring the company to life and government has taken their credit and their achievement what a shame. With 50 million dollars borrowed by the military has brought back des-function factory to life and government has borrowed 23 billion dollars owning workers and contractors and not a single factory has been revive and their taking the military achievement.
