the problem with this northern mentality is that thanks to jj they now all have an unquenchable thirst for power but never to serve in a team or accept their fellow countrymen . just look around in Accra and study the majority of the businesses owned by these northerners and in the majority of the medium and Small sized businesses you notice they only employ their fellow northerners and practically never employ an Akan . Today in Accra the largest religious building in the country will be the mosque being build on our national park at Nima donated by Turkey confirming the Islamic domination of Ghana. Tribalism mixed with chauvinism and despotism from the north has now equaled the hegemony of the ewes . A.C.C.R.A any criminal can roam about so we have them everywhere now . even at the scholarship secretariat hardly ever is an Akan awarded the privilege to go abroad and study now . The Akans are the majority but because most continue to sleep or blindly trust the other tribes these atrocities are taking place . We look at the political strategy of the NDC and see the typical Hannibal wench when he turned the strengths of the mighty Roman army against themselves as they are doing to the Akans . From the south they use part of the Fantis and from the North the Brongs , from behind we have the chariot onslaught of the Gas Ewes Krobos. Yes the political landscape reflects a war which is only meant to destroy the right of self governance of the God's chosen nation of Africa the Akan . For them its a big deal who leads the NPP but we really don't care as our movement grows stronger by the hour as more and more Akans wake up to reality of this dire situation . We did not ask for this war but we will fight it and be victorious as God is with us . Long live the Republic of Akan

Different perspective; how could labour consume 70% of tax revenues and yet no justifiable economic growth and social developments? We urgently need to evaluate if labour deserves the chunk of financial cost to the state base on productivity. Labour Unions should tell the whole nation whether their productivity is equal or above cost to the state.
The SADA, Merchant Bank, Lonrho project, oil blocks, cum the sands of corruptible issues destroying Ghana you talk about include Labour Union workers and not just politicians. The same civil or public servants create and handle those issues, come blame politicians alone! Don't we know staff from custom, fire, police, forestry, inland revenue, prisons, ministries, hospital, procurement officers, the law courts, etcetera x millions, conniving and condoning corrupt practices with impunity? Is it politicians only?
The Labour Union must be inward-looking and focus on strategies to eliminate corruption and increase productivity. The country belongs to all not only politicians so they should blow any corrupt whistles and face the politicians head on in these matters if they the Unions think 'holier thou they'. Ghana has fallen, and Labour Unions must accept their part of the responsibility and repair their faults, work hard before the nation can make enough to pay them.

I WONDER HOW THE MEDIA HAS BECOME SO ANTI-GOVERNMENT IN RECENT TIMES.IT APPEARS WHEN ELECTIONS ARE OVER, THE MEDIA SETTLES TO UNSEAT THE GOVT BY GANGING UP TO CONSTANTLY SUPPORT PRESSURE GROUPS AGAINST THE GOVT NO MATTER HOW PRUDENT AND GENUINE POLICIES ARE. I USE TO KNOW THAT THE MEDIA BEING THE THIRD REALM OF THE STATE ARE SUPPOSED TO EDUCATE THE MASSES ON GOVT POLICIES, INFORM THE GOVT ON THE VIEWS OF THE MASSES AND OTHERS WHICH BY NO MEASURE ARE TO ENSURE GOOD GOVERNANCE AND DEMOCRATIC CONTINUITY . TODAY OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THE RATE AT WHICH THE MEDIA IS WORKING HARD TO MAKE GOVT UNPOPULAR. THE LAWYERS COULD ARGUE ON THE RELEVANCE OF THE ELECTION PETITION NOT THE MEDIA....BUT BE IT AS IT WERE THE MEDIA HAD A GOOD CHANCE TO TRADE THEIR PARTISAN PAPERS. LET CONTROL OUR QUEST FOR MONEY.

Maybe the tax revenue is not enough. Start by taxing the perks and allowances of all the ministers and government hangers-on; treat all those as salaries.

It never happens in any country where 650,000 workers will hold the whole country of over 24.4 million people to ransom, please be courageous and call off the bluff. Go to the Ministries all they do is to read newspapers, if they are not collecting bribes (that is if they are on their seats at all)Please take the e-government serious as other countries are doing to eliminate bribery and corruption. I do not see why I cannot go on-line and apply for drivers license renewal or even passports etc. without having to see anybody to extort bribes from me for doing what he is paid to do. You have correctly diagnosed the problem be courageous enough to stand firm and call off their bluff. The TUC Secretary General is a joke and a black mailer the workers should kick him away in their own interest as employers of labour are not in a position to continue the black mail. Our small industries are collapsing under heavy wage bills not matched by productivity.

For those of you that read my stuff, I appear to bash the ruling government a lot and sound like an NPP, but I am an independent who wants the best for our country. This was a candid speech Mahama gave and I applaud him. Ghanaians must understand some truth of our economic activity like revenues and expenditure so that they can exercise patience, knowing you are working for them. The expenditure on public sector is getting out of hand and Mahama is right in pointing it out. If we spend 70% of income generated from taxes, that is very bad and the people should know that.
