  gbevlo was a gentleman with skills not suited for such an office. he was an ideal choice under knowledgeable mills but with brainless selfish mahama totally incompatible. the security of the land has so deteriorated in just less a few years to his none action in upholding the law . due to his misplaced loyalty he has allowed together with the bni chief yaw donkor the corruption to thrive and now its blown out of control. in protecting the constitution and upholding the rule of law we would have been assured of peace now we can only prepare for war and bloody civil uprising . everywhere you go from armed robbers in the street to universities people are already taking the law into their own hands and doing as they please without fear of the long arm of justice . ndc has forever destroyed the unity of the nation with their anti Akan agenda and the northern and ewe tribalism based on hatred . the facts are there only a fool will live in hope that this situation can be fixed with a reshuffle or a change of govt with or without elections . its over so prepare for the worst. the negative selection and caliber of the ministers is so poor they will not be able to face up to the challenges and things will surely fall apart

  I pity you so much for such comments. I don´t know how to describe your comments but I think, it´s due to maturity. There are thousands of our brothers there, accused of crimes they did not commit. Anyone could find himself there accicentally, therefore, mind your speech! Even in the United States, prisoners on death role are given dignity, and have the right to challenge the way they are going to be killed. Nobody ever comes out from prison and talk about anything good about it,though, I agreed that, it is not a place for enjoyment. Prison is made for reformations but in our country, they rather become advance training ground for criminals.

  Whether innocent people have been convicted or not the legal system has worked. Any one convicted through the courts and not satisfied, has a recourse to appeal. One arm of democracy is the courts and then appeal courts and finally Supreme Courts. Ask the NPP or 'ME AND YOU WERE NOT THERE'.
  
  Those people in prison you are crying for to be released and continue doing the samething, were not thrown into prison like NORTH KOREA. They were legally convicted and they have legal rights to appeal. GET THIS FACT STRAIGHT INTO YOUR SKULLS.

  The government should never reform the prison. Those who go there do so at their own free will and they deserve whatever condition is there for them. The government should make living condition in the prisons so nasty to deter people from going there. We should not copy the west where they pamper prisoners to a point that people love to go there just to enjoy life.

  Prisoners are to be reformed while in prison to return to the society as law abiding citizen, they might have made a mistake of committing crime but I believe a lot are imprison because they are poor and were never represented by an attorney, how many of us are walking free and have committed crimes thay we are supposed to be behind bars but we got away with it. The prisoners must be treated with fairness.

  Ibises noooo!! That is the attitude of prison officers. They even use corn dough to prepare soup for inmates and sell or send the ingredients to their families back home. What a shame.

  As an advocate of reform of prisons and prison condition I am not suprise by statements made so far on the conditions of prisons in Ghana. There are so many things that are overlooked in prison administration in Africa. One is that all prisoners carry shame, discrimination and social exclusion. These are signs of abuses and neglect. So there is urgent need for information and programs for both correctional officers and the incarcerated.So what can you? Like us on face book to raise awareness about prisons, plaeces of detention, incarceration, criminal and social justice in Africa.

An African proverb says that "if you tie a goat to a tree we will have to feed it" Society including you JB Osei Brown should know by now that tax revenue are suppose to provide for the poor, the needy and captives. Those children you refer to may as well have their parents incarcerated. So JB one day we shall be judged by our action to one each other.   Many so called remand prisoners are in custody for many years and are treated as heavy criminals, untill one day they are set free......as innocent.
