Nana this is a wonderful idea. You have lots of income. Set up an organization to employ people to renovate the Ashanti Region. Other regional chiefs will follow you if you start.

I will urge the Asantehene to carry out what he is saying first before he starts counseling his colleagues.We all know the Ashanti kingdom takes the largest portion of royalties from the state yet little is seen of it.There is too much waste in Manhyia,some of the resources should be diverted to solve some of the little problems that Ashantis are going through.As we speak there is a story of a community in Central Ashanti-Akyem who basically do not have the basic things in life that will project them as human beings on Joyfm.

Has he recovered the gold stolen from him in Norway? What has he done with the money from the sale of gold. Buying 4 million pounds mansion in London will not help most Ashantis who live in shanty towns.

Is time to account for the 35 million the World Bank gave him for the poor kids of Ashantiand also we demand the audited and published account for the Otumfuo Fund please

Chiefs cannot and should not usurp government responsibilities; they should hold government to account. The constitution of Ghana did not permitted chiefs to raise fees and or taxes on their subject. This has been a government function that has been turned over to the useless rural and urban planning and development scheme and its many subdivision officers. Asking chiefs to spearhead development would certainly ensure that areas naturally blessed with mineral and natural resources can prosper where those without fail. It’s a bad idea unless and until the government brings about parity to all regions. Should the chief of the Western region impose taxes on all oil extracts for development? Should the Ashantis impose tax on gold and farm products? What we need to do is vote the bums out of office be it the NPP or NDC we must not let tribal loyalties allow politics to screw citizens.
