Look, even if the short term liquidity is sorted out, the issue of competence is a concern, as the government has shown itself to be struggling and looking to deflect attention with propraganda and spin.
Political spin at this time is not needed, what is, is a plan (doesn't matter if it's from NDC, NPP, CPP etc) where Ghana can start to tackle the core issues of a bloated central government and the lack of infrastructure and framework supporting development and growth of business and generation of income tax.
How can a country take less than 30% of oil revenues, not tax coporations aappropriately, not develop the tourist trade (by building a 2nd international airport) and develop a better visa system thereby brining in more hard currency or help development of export through reducing the importation of goods which Ghana can produce. Plus a lack of access to credit for businesses and continue to not tackle corruption rrobustly.
It's a shame, Ghana has the people and the stability; however the lack of common sense and foresight is shameful.

Always useful for a reporter to explain who he is talking about in this case, John Gatsi. I am sure Mr Gatsi's mother knows him but perhaps others do not.

IT'S TIME FOR THE NDC GORVEMENT TO KNOW HOW CREAT A JOB BY DEALING WITH WESTERN COUNTRIES SUCH AS EUROPEANS AND U.S.A . ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION - HOW CHINA BECAME PROSPER ? ALMOST 70% OF THE MANUFACTORY JOB IN CHINA BELONG TO THE AMERICANS AND EUROPEANS BCOS OF CHEAP LABOUR AND GHANA CAN ALSO DO THE SAME IF GHANA WILL FACE AMERICANS AND THE EUROPEANS DIRECT FOR THE BUSINESS INVESTMENT INSTEAD OF DEALING WITH CHINA , TURKEY , RUSSIA AND IRAN . GHANA HAS NO MEANS TO PAY THE BAILOUT - WE DON'T PRINT OUR OWN MONEY . BORROW AND BAILOUT TERM AND CONDITIONS ARE DIFFERENT . GHANA STILL OWN CHINA PAYING UNNECESSARY HIGH INTEREST RATE . WHY NOT BORROW FROM OUR FRIENDS THE EUROPEAN OR AMERICAN FOR LESS RATE ?

I AM DISAPPOINTED AT MAHAMA AS I EXPECTED MUCH MORE ABILITY FROM HIM & NOT THIS WEAK LEADERSHIP AMIDST CORRUPTION EVERYWHERE.I REALLY DON'T THINK NPP NEEDS TO CAMPAIGN FOR 2016 AS NDC IS DOING THAT FOR THEM WITH VERY BAD LEADERSHIP, LOTS OF BARREN TALK, CORRUPTION ETC ETC ETC ETC. AN EXPERIANCE MAN LIKE MAHAMA BEING AN MP, VICE PRESIDENT AND NOW PRESIDENT SHOULD REALLY BE DOING MUCH BETTER.

It's funny how Ghana received a bailout which cleared all of our debts in Kuffour time. And in just 8 years, we have accumulated 16.5 billion in debt while we have discovered oil. The people need to stand up, otherwise our country is doomed. Even I can manage this country and make profit for the country. We have too many crooks in office, both NDC and NPP, as well as the other parties too.

We will warn IMF and World Bank not to bailout Ghana under Mahama. Before they do so,we will ask IMF and World Bank to investigate what Mahama did with our 23 billion dollars and provide evidence and documentation and confirm all projects to satisfy Ghanaians with press briefing before they do so.This John Gatsi did not know what he is talking about.Isn't the same John Gatsi said the 23billion dollars debt Mahama has incur for the nation and nothing to show for is nothing and accommodable? So why is he calling for bailout now.Is this guy sick or what?

Bailout out just to shore up the currency? Why don't you stop importing things that can be locally produced, To easy the pressure on the Cedi. Where is the oil money? Where is the cocoa, diamond, timber, remittance money? Did the Bank of Ghana just insure bonds for 25% intesrest? That's crazy (25%). These money managers cannot even manage their own money properly, much more manage the economy of a country.
