The role of TUC is not to help govt to create jobs at all. Here is the definition of trade unions "Trade unions are organisations that represent people at work. Their purpose is to protect and improve people's pay and conditions of employment. They also campaign for laws and policies which will benefit working people.
Trade unions exist because an individual worker has very little power to influence decisions that are made about his or her job. By joining together with other workers, there is more chance of having a voice and influence".
Again, government does not create jobs but rather puts in place good policies and incentives to help the private sector create jobs. The administration needs to find a way to reduce its salary expense -- either by getting rid of redundant employees, through attrition or putting a hold on raises and new hires until the economy improves. Unfortunately Mahama does not have the backbone to handle the problem hence the constant bickering between TUC and government.

as a graduate of the university of bullshit i easily recognize the stupidity and shit . blame the innocent as they can never defend themselves is his motto . fifi kwasea kwetey needs to know bad management and incompetent corrupt ndc govts are the cause nothing else . our workers are underpaid as it is already and with the wages as they are today is borderline slavery so if they don't know or have the solution they should all immediately resign. How many viable projects being promoted by Akans did he sabotage as deputy finance minister , we already know of at least 200 factories that would have employed an average of 2000 people at an average wage of 3000 cedis because they were all export orientated . fifi has a heart of stone and is a natural born liar but we will make sure he ends up in jail for undermining the development of the state and advocating for further poverty of our Akan.tribal idiots like him in the highest office of the land are a sure sign Ghana can never prosper

Even those with jobs cannot make ends meet and the government is bent on introducing more taxes. What a country. Can the ordinary man ever be happy in Ghana?

TUC will always look for the interest of workers, better wages, pension packages and good working conditions. That's their job and responsibility. The government does not create every job or pay every worker so they need to know the concerns of job owners and enterprises. You cannot discuss with the TUC and leave the entrepreneurs outside. So who is going to create the jobs and pay the workers?I pity our experts and administrators. We have something called the TRIPARTY,which means all the social patners involving, govt, union and entrepreneurs. Please let us be a bit pragmatic and a bit technical.Thank you.

The TUC is rather under performing with the NDC government poor performances. They paid huge end of service pay to themselves, bought heavy vehicles to themselves, paid heavy rent and car allowances and advances to themselves and the MPs. and you are saying we are in crisis?. What about the judgment debts?. Gyeda monies, the private plane from the Military retooling etc. Efo Senyo rather call on the government to return part of the monies they have stolen in various ways back into coffers and the TUC will be happy including your good self

Ghana's economic woes are not embedded in our stars. The conspicuous lack of leadership qualities of John Mahama has led to this development.
He started from the wrong approach by appointing people who simply do not know what they are doing(a case of show me your friend and i will show you your character,a blind man leading blind men.Hence the pitfall). One would have expected a good leader to take stock of where Ghana was economically when he was illegitimately privileged to lead the country.
The senseless government expenditure coupled with the withdrawal of subsidies on utilities and petroleum products, buttressed by the uninhibited borrowing spree and huge import bills at a time when the world prices of cocoa and gold were adjusting downwards and diminishing our borderline foreign exchange reserves are substantially responsible for our current economic predicament.
It beats my imagination that non of them could anticipate the effect of these price reductions on the Cedi, our capacity to service contracted loans and to import essential plant and machinery for development.
Then the constant threat to CONSUMERS.Refusing to pay legitimately-earned income on the pretext that they should sacrifice!
Does he understand how the economy works? It is a sad commentary on his performance.I mean one does not need to be so brilliant to be the president of any nation. It is the reason there has not been any rocket scientist as president. If they do become presidents,it will be a classic example of underemployment.
All what John Mahama needs is the wisdom to DELEGATE authority effectively.Of course not to wives and concubines of acquaintances, sons and daughters of moribund politicians, tribesmen and ,perhaps, fula-soaking mates of past glorious memories. This is not a child's play.
We are being indebted by the persistent unofficial devaluation of the Cedi.
Seth Terkper thinks the revenue mobilization alone will provide the magic wand.Over-taxation can have a negative impact on the economy by stifling demand for goods and services, increasing the cost of production of our production units and lead to unemployment.
All the borrowed monies should have led to increased purchasing power of the workers and stimulated economic growth.Sadly, this not the case.so the monies are fueling inflation. It is the reason they are in a state of flux.
If Seth Terkper can add a little economics flavor to the accountant's penchant desire for cutting cost,he will do well.
All said and done,John Mahama should resign now!!!!!!
