This is a shame to Ghana which claims to champion the human rights in Africa.
As a matter of fact, some people are just imprisoned for crimes that could have attracted community services like cleaning, desilting choked gutters, cleaning road sides among others. Yet our judges put them into prisons for a long time for offences like stealing a bunch of plantain and some cassava while the real criminals like Wayome are walking on the streets freely. Does this make sense?

Yes Frank, as a matter of fact, there are many in ghanaian jails without any court trial(s), NOT to mention the innocent ones who are jailed due to corrupt authorities and corrupt(evil) citizen

THIS GOV SHOULD BE GIVEN PENALTY FROM UN FOR NOT PROVIDING TOILETS, FRESH WATER! PRISONERS IN USA LIVE BETTER THAN HOMELESS/POOR PEOPLE. tHEY GET 3 MEALS PER DAY & FREE MEDICAL CARE!

poor reportage, how can Sekondi central prison be at Koforidua.As a former prison officer there is Koforidua local prison and Sekondi central prison both different prisons.

More especially highly communicable diseases like T.B. and chicken-pox. If the prison communities throughout the country are neglected and starved of the needed funds and resources, society will be also affected negatively

I will appeal to Mr Asiedu Nketia, the 'Accredited General Mosquito', who advises all others except his own, to visit this prison and with his acclaimed expertise advise his ruling Party how to fix this! You see, it is only when you start fixing things will you be SURE of retaining your Party's Rule. I am not a General, neither am I a mosquito, but one thing I know for sure is that, in politics, you CANNOT take anything for granted!. Even with our 'naïve' / 'gullible' electorate, you still cannot be sure until the chips are down! Asiedu Nketia, are you reading this????
