I am NDC man too but hate what my party is doing because very few members have hijacked the part and not helping the President with good advise either. Hence the economic woes is getting worse daily. These hijackers only care about what they fill their pocket with and usually do very little.
Please if you care that much refuse the posting to India and stay home to help the President.

Why should a [poor] government like ours afford to pay the following for Ministers, MPs, government appointees, etc., etc., etc., while they're PAID to do their jobs??
*Rent for bungalows & other places like hotels & guest houses;
*Utility bills (telephone, water & sewage, electricity, etc., etc.
*Vehicles (cars) & drivers, Petrol (gas), oil, car repairs, etc., etc.
Even a RICH nations like the United States of America, where Congressmen & women (parliamentarians in Ghana) are paid upwards of $174,000 annually, PAY RENT & UTILITIES FOR THEIR OWN ACCOMMODATION, FOR THEIR OWN CARS AND DRIVERS, if any, because many congressmen & women DRIVE THEMSELVES!! Only CABINET members have government cars and paid drivers, but these cabinet members still pay for their own accommodation in Washington, DC. Only the President and his Vice have FREE accommodation in Washington, DC—everybody else has to pay to live and work here.
If the Ghana government pays all these bills for officials, then what the heck do these officials do with their salaries—smoke it or eat it? So, listen to the Ambassador designates piece of advice, Mahama.
These benefits were instituted by (Mr. BOBO), the WHITEMAN for the WHITEMAN during the colonial era—just simply to attract White people from England, Scotland, Ireland & Wales to come to work on the DARK CONTINENT, else they wouldn't come. But we've kicked the Whiteman out, so why do we still keep these benefits as well as the OLD retirement age of 60 years, while people are living longer (better life expectancy)—so why not extend it to 70 years, Negro??

The Ghanaian public should bombard the offices of their MPs with phone calls, emails, letters, etc and make their displeasure over these perks known to the MPs. They should tell them in no uncertain terms that they should vote to do away with these perks or else they will not vote them back into office. A third world country like Ghana, where over half of its budgets come in the form of foreign aid has no business giving these kinds of perks to public and elected officials. In the US, elected officials are not entitled to the kinds of perks seen in Ghana. Congressmen pay rent just like everybody else pay rent, pay for their own transportation, etc.

The NDC government has placed square pegs in round holes, the consequences of which we're all suffering. This Yalley guy should be appointed a minister rather than ship him out of the country as an ambassador. What he is suggesting makes sense. I never knew government appointees don't even pay their own rent? What a drain on the tax payer. These non-performing government appointees are living free of charge and making life unbearable for the ordinary Ghanaians. I feel sad for our country!!! God Help Us!!!

The argument that Ghana is a middle income country is one BIG MIRAGE. Rebasing the country did not add one pesewa to people's income. The questions should be "what is the purchasing power of middle income countries? What is the median income of middle income country families?" Until these questions are answered we are just tickling ourselves.

YOU BUY MOST THINGS LESS AND YOU LIVE IN A FREE RESIDENCE WITHOUT PAYING A CENT. WHY NOT START WITH AMBASSADORS PAYING FOR THEIR OWN ACCOMMODATIONS THEN WE SHALL HAVE THE SAME PLAYING FIELD HE IS ADVOCATING. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I AM ALL FOR IT THAT EITHER ALL WORKERS GET FREE ACCOMMODATIONS OR NOBODY GETS ANYTHING EITHER.
