The National Communication Authority must be up and doing. It has made no provision whatsoever for the conversion of the current internet protocol (IPV4) to the new standard which is IPV6. It has not issued any directive to any of the telecommunication companies to migrate to this new standard. Many countries are in the process of converting and some countries have already completed the transition.
Ghana must convert to IPV6, the new standard, by the end of the year. Ghana must not be left behind. What is interesting is that the existing infrastructure already has provision for this.

Does "levy charges against their subscribers for the use of some social media services on their networks" mean plain and simple DATA charges.
Are they charging them for internet access or they are charging for actually using the Apps? Because the last time i checked, Facebook owns Whatsapp so the only person who can really charge for its usage is Mark Zuckerberg.

Some of us are tired of MTN and its customer insensitivity and are seriously looking for excuse to switch network. This would provide good grounds ti do so. No reliable service, call drop during calls, sometimes no signal when you need to make very important calls with no apology from them, and all they sit down and think off is how to make money money from us.
Some of us are ready for them. The move is most welcome as l personally would have an opportunity to switch from MTN to another network after 12 years of loyal and dedicated usage of their service with no appreciative gesture from this INSENSITIVE CORPORATE ENTITY.

Ignorance is a disease.. and that goes to the author of this article! These telcos imply that you will be allowed to simply pay for whatsapp data at a cost probably cheaper than if are browsing pay-as-you-go. They will bundle data specifically to use on these social apps. This will be cheaper in the long run for frequent users... there won't be any double charges. This way of selling data bundles is not new.
