This kind of report is indeed misleading. It is rather unfortunate that such a report should come from one of the best hospitals in the country. From all indications, this report shows a complete cover-up.It fails to locate the missing stillborns. It also fails to hold anyone responsible for the missing stillborns. This report is a mess.

It is amazing how much noise that people can make about an issue rather than correcting a system that has gone bad. I worked in KATH as a medical officer over 30 years ago and even at that time when scarcity in Ghana was at its height, congestion in that hospital was a serious problem. I think we all need to focus on the right issues here and prevent a reoccurrence. To me, some of the principal issues at hand are:
1. Does KATH have a proper protocol for dealing with stillborn babies?
2. Are all staff working in the said facility trained on the protocol?
3. Did the staff follow the protocol?
4. Are there shortfalls in the protocol that have been identified after this incident?
5. What has the hospital done to correct the shortfalls?
Unfortunately people are trying to chastise others for doing their work instead of helping them to do it better. Let's have sober minds, look at what went wrong, look to see if some people were negligent and let the law take its course while we make sure the system works for all in the way it was intended to work.

I am sure Ms Suwaiba could not understand why she has to thump print. We know that people's babies are being sold to couples who can afford to pay this I know for sure. Before this saga I knew that the nurses will wrap the babies and bring them out to a waiting car and hand them out, God is watching us all. Mr. Afari, you may not know this but trust me it is happening. I mis-carried twins at 7 months, the hospital laid the babies next to me until the following morning then they asked me whether or not I want the hospital the bury them. So Mr Suwaiba should have been given the choice. A few people in that hospital have enriched themselve whilst causing mothers so much pain, it is not fair at all.

Madam Freedom Fighter, the way people like you are approaching this problem is the root of all our problems in Ghana. When there is a problem in Ghana, instead of people looking at the failures in the system and trying to improve the system or plug the loopholes, we personalize issues or look at them as one time event. We have to look at the system to see where the deficiencies are and correct them. That does not mean wrong doers are not punished! Correcting the system when it is found wanting should always be the priority so that that failure does not reoccur. If we do not correct the system, tomorrow there will be a similar case and the next year another and so on and so on. Would we not have been penny wise and pound foolish by doing that? Wouldnt it have been prudent for the report to tell us what the protocols for disposal stillborns are and if they were followed to the latter in this case? And if so how could we improve the protocol and training of staff to avert future occurence of such a case? Emotions may be raw but working with sober minds is always supreme. For your information, I have buried my child soon after delivery in one of the most advanced labor wards in this world so I know the pain but the management of that hospital still came back to me to ask if I thought they could have done something better to help improve their system. They were ready to learn surely they have learnt over the years with sober minds!!

It has been widely reported the KATH saying that the incinerator had not been working for 7 days when the baby went missing. Yet in their report KATH did not deal with such a key issue on the whole missing baby sage.

God will punish these axis-of-evil. I do not see how a doctor will involve himself in baby stealing but their conduct (foolish pride)encourages such acts on their blind side.To me KATH means Komfo Anokye Thieves Heaven.

Either the stillborn babies were stolen alive or dead by the hospital staff and sold to someone for his/her evil deeds.The CEO of KATH should be solely held accountable if the babies are not found.

This is such a simple case. First start from the top and then work your way down. Whoever touched these women should be questioned and prosecuted if necessary. It is that simple. This Mahama government is a complete waste of Ghanaians time. Disgusting!
