I watched the whole game and Ghana played much better than the Italians despite the referee favoring the Italians with most of her decisions. When you play in the quarter final and the referee blows the whistle against you for almost every tackle (most of which were 50-50 balls they were fighting for) it is difficult to conform to your game plan. The first penalty given to Italy was purely not a penalty, and their second penalty was also debatable. Ghana had a clear penalty that was denied just like the controversially denied equalizer. The girls deserve commendation as they did well despite the frustrating manner in which the referee officiated the match.

It is so annoying to see one-sided refereeing in tournaments over and over again and I wonder what CAF is doing about it. Instead of playing the helpless victims each time, African teams can take the bull by the horn by probably taken a drastic measure like walking off the pitch if the officiating is such bad and if such a team is banned for doing so, other participating African sides could also withdraw from all tournaments. If African countries can stick together , such blatant biases against us may stop.

I respect every comment but also very surprised that no 1 is blaming the coach for such a por display since we lost to Canada. During te Canada match, I told my sister plainly that Ghana will loose the next match so I wouldn't waste my time in the middle of the night to watch their next game as they had no Game plan and were always booting the ball up into the opponents are from the back. When the Italian and Canadian coaches were actively giving instructions from the bench even when they were leading us, our coach stood there dump and blind not knowing what was going on ad what to do either. HE IS NO COACH ( Am sorry to say ths but it's the truth). 4 get about the referee robbing us; if Ghana had controlled the midfield and played a passing game, we would ve won D match hands down despite the robbery. The coach was so poor that he couldn't get the best out of Ayieyam whose 5 goals in the last world cup took us to 3rd place. Se managed only 2 goals from 4 games. His substitutions were also wrong and he had no vision to read te game. GFA has to marry the game of consistency and allow successful coaches to stay at the jnr level. The coach who won us the 3rd place shouldve been allowed to continue his job N we couldve won the cup. The team was god individually but the coach was so very poor N couldn't match up any game plan or strategy once we conceded goals. Let's keep this team N with a god coach, they can shine at U20 level N pls GFA stop changing coaches like a clock ticking every minute. Congrats Madiens, u did your very best.

This was the worst robbery in a soccer game I have seen. How can a player missed a header before initiating contact with a defender (by coming down on the defender) and the referee awarded a penalty? This is insane. The call should have gone the other way.

The Ghana coaches have done a great job with these girls who kept their cool throughout this ordeal of playing against Italy and the referee.

Those of us who watched the game appreciate the efforts of the handlers and the girls. Our girls lost all 50-50 duel decisions ad just before half time the stat showed 22-9 against them.
Several days after the match I am still trying to come to term how such a referee can be a FIFA referee and worse of all will be surprised if she is not removed from FIFA list of referees. Sanctioning her ought to ne immediate. Period! I urge GBC-TV to rebroadcast that particular game.

If we had made more ad converted half of them, we wouldve won the game hands down. Obstacles we will meet but let's train our players to be disciplined N fight till d end. I recorded the whole game and appeal to the TV stations in Ghana to rebroadcast it for Ghanaians to appreciate what these young ladies went through.
I agree that the coach could have been more active than he was, but this is the difference between African coaches and especially European coaches.
I also agree that much as Ghanaian and African football is about dribbling European football is about game plan and building up. European plan to score goals and our players dribble to entertain, but at the end of the day it is the number of goals scored that matters.
All in all this particular should be sent packing from the tournament and sanctioned severely. She was a DISASTER.

I like the Ghanaian girls style of play and I wish my country can do that. I'm going to Brazil because of Ghana to watch all the matches of Black stars. Brothers and sisters receive the team as the arrive home as if they have won the cup for it is not their fault but the refree. To me the girls had the potential to lift the cup. If I had my own way I would have taken it up to FIFA to let the match replay, al those who watch the game will agree with me. African countries must be caeful in the 2014 WC in Brazil. I salute you Maidens. I'll see you guys in Brazil come with nice Black Stars T-Shirt for us.

The real issue was that we should have scored more than two. We played very well but wasted chances. When you end up having to go to penalties it becomes a game of luck. Always finish in regulation.
