Are there no younger capable folks in the party? Ghana’s electorate is young and is likely to go for younger person regardless of Mahama's incompetence. Was it not just a few days ago that he was hollering on the radio that according to him a lot of people had come to him telling him they wanted to see the back of Nana Addo because they were tired of him and wanted a younger, newer face as the flag-bearer of the party?

This gentleman is just full of ego and hot air. He has not learned his lessons after a few young men called him out at the NPP USA National Conference in Charlotte, NC for his acerbic comments which are inimical to the party's cause.

His unsolicited opinions are inconsistent and full of hubris and sheer nonsense.

If you feel like Nana Addo's candidature is a problem for you, why don't you just put in your bid and contest against him and let's all see how you fare. This cowardly media blitz is just stupidity, to say the least.

He does not express any opinion on Nana either way, and that is how we make intelligent unbiased argument. He might have a reservation on Nana's leadership which he should be allowed to opine as a member of the NDC, and he is also allowed to debate the issues as to the quality of leader Ghana needs which he is allowed to do as a Ghanaian. Neither of this indicates being a flip flopper. People are entitled to their opinions and should be allowed to do so in a democracy.

NPP and the nation has a political mandate for any individual ambitions to run for the highest chair. Be it old or young, we are constitutionally apportioned two terms to run.
If one cannot serve or serve for two terms that person must go and it's non negotiable.
The truth sometimes hurt but I strongly believe NPP must follow their constitution and pick the best leader as the front runner.
Nana's short tour may have generated a buzz in town but trust me. Ghanaians adore any leader and accord such to anyone but that should not be a base to prove a winnable ticket.
This is the time for leadership of the party to really sit down and THINK.
There are other viable candidates out there that can amass the same support Nana garnered but this time a winner not a patapaa.

There is nothing unpatriotic about what Dr. Kennedy is saying but you consider it offensive and brand him as an enemy to NPP. That is our problem - we are not bold and proactive. We find it very difficult to confront issues head-on, at prime time, when something can be done about it.

Instead, we wait till the damage is already done, when the cost has become too expensive for us, before we start pointing fingers blaming other people for our shortcomings.

We have all witnessed the sudden departure to the UK of Nana during the petition hearing for a medical check up. If it was a minor issue, Ghanaian doctors might have treated him.

At age 72 in 2016, Akufo Addo's heart will be too weak to criss cross Ghana's hard terrain during election campaingn.

And this is my prediction; Nana will stumble on the finishing line and for the third time, a second fiddle. At worst, 2016 election may out live him.

In China it is rule by a dictatorship leading government through a politburo core group. In the UK power does not reside with the Prime Minister only but also in both chambers while his/her party loyalists fight for the agenda/policies to prevail in lower and upper houses. In the US, power of the purse also lies with the two chambers and not only in the president even as the president's party members in the senate and congress try to push their leader's agenda through. The same is true in Germany and other civilized western nation.
In Ghana our self absorbed members of parliament and those who put together our 1992 constitution were either drunk off "akpeteshie" or imported hard liquor they deferred power to the executive branch and the power to steal to parliament as parliament gets paid for no work. As such work in parliament has been lousy, oversight duties of parliament on budgets presented by the president and his party has been non-existence; it matters then to have a able body in Ghana's executive offices. The late president Atta Mills failed because at his age he allowed his clownish inner circle to run rough shots while they stole money that are not earmarked. Akufo-Addo, Dr. K has a record and it is not pretty. John Mahama is putting his record together and it has not been pretty so far. To have these two, Nana Akufo-Addo compete against John Mahama, is to accept that Ghana has no hesitation accepting mediocrity and not the best minds Ghanaians have to offer and it’s a shame Dr. K.

Danquah and co. had the right ideas) and his dictatorial instincts are what Ghana has been struggling over the years to correct.Does it seem wise to you that Nkrumah dissipated our money by dishing it out to liberation movements across Africa?Imagine that all the State-this,State-that business units were private entities,Ghana would have been better off.There would not have been the need to sell them now.Some employees of the State Farms Corporation were using the tractors to weed their own farms at the expense of Ghana.

I would love to support Arthur K's bid because he is honest, has integrity and low minds do not seem to understand when he gives an opinion. I know him well from Legon when he mobilised students to oppose military dictatorship which led to him being chased out of Ghana to continue his education in Canada. Despite all that he still managed to finish medical school. He is now hated in the NPP for being honest because honesty is derided in Ghana and Ghanaian politics. In fact that is exactly why some people are using the words flip-flop for him. But if you support a cause that does not mean you salute every decision made even if your heart tells you it is wrong. That is called honesty and integrity, and that actually is missing in Ghana politics.

When Komla died,there were those who asked,why,why not an older person,why not someone like our African Statesman and hero Robert Mugabi who had done so much so long to be celeberated on his death to be remembered as one who did so much for his people.But President Mugabi is still alive well and kicking.God works in mysterious ways isn't it?Nana Addo's long life is no ones making but God's.Who can challenge that.No one knows what God wishes to use Nana Addo for Ghana. This is a mystery to you and me.Some of us have people that we wish and pray they had died every day. But the harder we pray the longer and stronger they get.What can we mortals do about that?All we can do is to leave all to God.So although the Ageism debate must go on,let us not do it at the expence of Nana Addo's decision to contest for President. In fact, that writer is only elated casting insulting slurs on NPP and dubbing NPP party "Akan Party". Thus, can one also call NDC "Ewes party" merely because about 99.5% of Ewes regularly votes on tribal lines in favor of NDC, when in fact most Ewes (not all) don't think about or consider the problems facing Ghana before voting for NDC unabatedly?

Ghana needs good thinkers and goo writers who can think well or write to offer prudent and dynamic ideas and solutions in oder to help solve the immense poverty in Ghana or assist in alleviating the perturbing tribalism, division, hate mongering, lack of employment, sex for job saga, lack of adequate food, poor drinking water, lack of sound electricity power, bad roads, mention but just a few. If dare challenge the so-called "BBC News" to eschew his or her differences being depicted towards NPP and come out boldly, courageously, thoughtfully (if any); wisely (if any)....to give ideas that would be meaningful to help Ghana develop. For what he/she is doing now is sickening, unacceptable, ugly, filthy, uncouth, insane, ignorant, unintelligent, antiquated, and animalistic. If you have any good plans or ideas, give to your NDC and your womanizer president, John Dramani Mahama.

If he has clean bill of health then fine he can be considered for a president. Else we should be focusing on whether the then 71 year old will be healthy enough for the position of the president. Remember, Atta Mills was a lame duck because of his poor health.
Can someone else from NPP be the president and Nana play the advisory role. Or there's no one in NPP as 'smart' as Nana for the presidency.
Nana, if he wins will be 76 at the end of his first term.
Are we looking at all these factors?

We do not want to be in a position where the president will be spending more time in the emergency room than the presidential office. Grinding day and night to tackle the humongous problems the country had been grappling with.
