However there are many churches, especially the Nigerian churches, which don't bring any foreign currency into this country. They are able to collect from their church members in cedis amounts of enormous proportions. They then buy US dollars or euros and then either transfer it to Nigeria through swift transfers or drive it from Ghana into Nigeria. Any Nigerian church involved in such activities must be shut down by the BOG.

Any Nigerian who wants to purchase foreign currency with cedis must be given Nigerian Naira or CFA Franc.

Our cultures and socialization practices do not allow us to think outside the box. We cannot therefore advance any aspect of our culture because we are caught up in staying within the cultural box. In the USA when we encounter any non African culture we tend to like it compared to our own. The components we like in the foreign culture we are never able to replicate in our own culture...Thus we always like American customer service..yet even the Ghana embassy in Washington D.C. has the worst customer service ever!!!..Rude young girls who act like they are doing you a favor when talking to you...Rude and abrasive security guards who cannot pay attention to you unless you are white, asian or maybe indian {still not sure about that}...This self hate is a theory that has been research on a lot in the USA and has plagued the african americans for forever..It is no wonder that the Africans are also exhibiting this trait. Its just the black man's cultural bain and none of our social scientists (if we have any) is smart enough to come up with any solutions...The good Bishop is just hinting on a phenomenon..please stop making it personal and attacking him. He also made a mistake...this behavior is not a curse..rather it means that the African man (bishop included) has no imaginative ability to make anything he creates or owns more attractive or take it to the next level. The Europeans have that game down pat. Every year a new car model will come out. A new make up for women will be launched..a new perfume, laptop, ipad, iphone will be produced with better features created and designed by specialists at their trade..African cultures don't seem to have that behavior built in..Whats worse we cant even seem to copy it...yet we like nice things..lol..we like the nice things that the Europeans create...Even powder fufu was a neccessity that many have adapted to in the USA however no one has experimented with creating powdered fufu with a hint of ginger..or cinamon..or a jollof rice patty..or burrito..or creat a new dish altogether...Yet let a European or Asian create this item and we will be all over it...So the onus is on us...We need to get creative and stop squashing the creativity out of our children who make toy cars out of milk tins...we need to nurture these behaviors yet we condemn these kids as being too playful or not book-long..what good is having 800 african taxi drivers with Ph.Ds in the USA who have not created one item for human use?..What a waste!!!

My personal observation is that I attended two international conferences, first in Nigeria and second in Burkina Faso. In both countries I was so stunned with what I saw. In Nigeria the women were all wearing local African (Nigerian) style attire, most of them with head gear. As for the men I never saw a single Nigerian in European style suit. I therefore felt ashamed in my European suit as a Ghanaian. My shame was made worse when I saw that Indian were always in their peculiar attire like how we always see them in their 'Indian films'!

My shame was however made light when I realised that I was not the only Ghanaian in European suit.

Then in Burkina Faso it was very humbling to observe that all their international conference bags and other conference paraphernalia were made in Burkina Faso, specifically with local smock material. Then they had smocks and other locally made clothes which were all in great demand by the conference participants from all over the globe. And the most striking observation of all, was the fact that virtually all those selling these paraphernalia were ordinary people, most of them not even educated.
Not so in Ghana, where conference bags, for example, are usually imported, expensive and sometimes very 'dignifying', yet no one from a European country is ever excited to carry this home!! Worst of all, venues for international conferences in Ghana are usually for 'dignitaries', and the ordinary people rarely have access to such premises.
It is really time for us as a people to do serious introspection!!!

The hatred for Ghana has been in the blood of Ghanaians and ex-Ghanaians who at the time of Ghana's struggle for independence made it clear even to Britain they will not abide by the laws of Ghana if the administration of Ghana was not handed, uncontested, to them. They lost at each turn to the British and to all the free elections held for eligible Ghanaian voters of the time. It should not come as a surprise to anyone, therefore, why the opposition of yesteryear and their offshoot NPP of today entertain and engage in acts of sabotage here at home in Ghana and from their hideouts from the Diaspora. From voice and video doctoring and distortions the NPP that boast itself as party of Ghana's intellectuals will buy and sell on other markets but Ghana. There are NPP businessmen and politicians who spend thousands of US dollars buying shoes and clothing in stores in the US via their credit cards even as they barter with locals to buy their preferred foreign made goods on the local market at or below expected sale prices.
It is truly sad Ghanas voting public cannot distinguish between used car sales pitch from politicians with all the traits and carry on actions of espionage even as they talk about ideals they cannot fathom. Can a nation be free or have any meaningful freedoms if its economic and cultural values are derived from begging civilized and developed nation where their governments are tasked with doing things in the interest, safety and security of their own nations? The fight for the soul of Ghana is now a battle between the cowardly NDC and the hypocritical NPP.

Today Ghanains import water and rice from war torn Ivory Coast ,vegetables from South Africa when we can easily produce from backyard garden ... and so on and so on ... Fellow countrymen what hope and expectations have Ghanaians ? T The Archbishop address should be taken seriously considering the fact despite th oil , gas , gold , diamond ,cocoa commodities we export ...earning from them to devote for infrastructure development, import industrial plants and equipment to build factories will be spend to repay loans for importing food, water , textiles, sandals , T shirt , ladies panties .... so at the end of the day we blame the President and the governing party in power for not delivering and inflating the econmy and making life in Ghana harsh for us . Yet the bottom line of our problem is that we Ghanaians are prone to imported consumables and dislike same products produced by local industries in Ghana.. Are we not crucifying the Ghanaian industries for Chinese and Indian , Ivory Coast and South Africa imported consumables . Just look around univerities are spring evrey where and do we ask ourselves where jobs will be created for school leavers and degree holders after graduation? Duncan William is fed up with what he is observing and his attention lead him to voice out that Ghanians are cursed with self hatred so hate local goods.... I am tempted to just ignore this report of the General Overseer. His Eminence the Archbishop and General Overseer is engaging in what is known as "mob psychological analysis". What His Eminence says about 'self hatred' is an over simplification. Look, in making this sort of analysis, the 'wheel' has already been invented for us. Every country and every society has had issues of "quality" when it has begun its own manufacturing processes. In the so-called first world countries like Germany, the United States and Japan, companies have rigorous 'quality control' regimes in which products are never shipped out of a production facility if they do not meet quality specifications. To be sure, Ghana is a new country relatively speaking and our producers are in the 'crawling stage' at the moment. Unfortunately, consumers do not care if you are just starting out because those consumers have alternatives which are already high quality. When the consumer begins to believe that a Ghana produced product is just as good in quality, he will begin to patronize Ghanaian products. The issues are complicated. His Eminence the General Overseer is out of his element but then he is preaching to his congregation and I suspect they will respond to his shallow perspective.

That points out the fact that, it is strictly, Duncan Williams' opinion and not biblical. We must learn to question things that come from GODS pulpit that is not biblical and not from GOD. So it is of no consequence that such words should be and attract a national debate. Simply words from a man held in high esteem by some who idolize him, as do others. I am quite sure Duncan Williams will agree that those utterances are not biblical and not to be taken as Sanskrit.
Please preach the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST and refrain from being a judge of all Ghanaians. So if Ghanaians are cursed (which is a very broad statement), then the implication spares none including Duncan Williams.

Why can not our cedis power/value get weak when we continue buying foreign things and hating our own. Now the cedis value is low, and you all foolishly see it like it is the fault of a president in power.

Change parties and presidents and do nothng about the low mentality behaviour of prefering to buy foriegn things to buying your own locally produced goods. Even nobody in Ghana thinks of the shortage of timber trees.

They cut the trees and nobody advise that new trees should be planted. What a hell and stupid thse Ghanaians are? So foolish that they never remember to do the things that could save their nation. Next time they will import timber trees, and will quickly blame another president of shortage of timber trees.

You, the people of Ghana, and your primitive village stupidity is the cause of your nation's woes, not the single president and the team he works with. It is time to realise your mistakes and change from only blaming people and finding escape goats as the cause of your nation's problem.

O when will primitive Ghanaians see their primitive and low insight way of thinking, so that they change and understand where their problems originate from.

Do Ghanaians see how foolish and stupid they are when one talks of good econpomy. With their low mwntality at stake the only thing they like most is 4X4 SUV VEHICLES and a nice house built.

The whole nation forgets about what makes a nation economically sound. If you know that then, why are you depending on foreign goods and hate your own locally produced goods. Dear STRANGE TONGUES..it seems the man is just venting out his frustration at his own behavior where he is finding himself liking everything foreign rather than his own. The man is just lamenting his own plight which indeed is the plight of the black man these days. We don't manufacture anything of high value...Instead we sit around for other to come and rape our women and give us scraps extracted from our own land...We need a new plan we need a revolution of POSITIVE SOCIAL ENGINEERING..to uplift our African cultures and ways of thinking...our cultures are not able to adapt to this new world we are in ..at least not so quickly...therefore we are kind of stuck in stagnation yet the times have changed so much that we can't compete...its very sad and it seems to have happened or is happening to every black country on the face of this planet...there is not even one first world black country..not even a second world black country...yet we are sitting on some serious rich minerals...we keep touting our song and dance as our culture...but can song and dance feed a young child or fumigate a mosquito infested area? can song and dance cure HIV or cancer? Can song and dance instill a sense of honesty in our our young children? The answer is no...Old African men are to blame for our woes..especially the politicians...when you meet one next ...watch them carefully..they have no plans..no new ideas..no solutions...some don't even listen ti international news..they are just stuck in their little African cultural mind box and living life like a child..very sad..yet they want respect...HAHAHAHAH

Religious organizations have an effect on the economy.

Some churches are involved in all sorts of philanthropic activities. They bring a lot of foreign currency into the country for these purposes. However there are many churches, especially the Nigerian churches, which don't bring any foreign currency into this country. They are able to collect from their church members in cedis amounts of enormous proportions. They then buy US dollars or euros and then either transfer it to Nigeria through swift transfers or drive it from Ghana into Nigeria. Any Nigerian church involved in such activities must be shut down by the BOG.

Any Nigerian who wants to purchase foreign currency with cedis must be given Nigerian Naira or CFA Franc.

How can a child who tell others that his parents are criminals when they have not committed any crime can not be said to be a person who lost his dignity and self respect.
The absurdity of these priests of the Abram religions is that they claim that we must pay due for the sins of Adam and Eve who are Jews.
