As for developing football in the country, he's as stale as they come. No news ideas but always promising to bring home trophies. Guess after all, a promise is a comfort to a fool, but somebody said Ghanians have a short memory, so what's new?

THESE are the facts and not because of not lack of a successful plan, though your point is also a fact interns of progressive or more successful results football.
WEAH, ABEDI, MILLER and others did not had any LAY DOWN SUCCESSFUL PLAN at the tender age.
But once they went professional football their worked harder and became what they were.
OUR BOYS should work more hard and then have the successful plan you are talking about too.

Frank,
What's your point in bringing up that 22-year division those idiots, Tony Baffoe, Abedi and Yeboah, caused in our National Team? What they all did back then had nothing to do with developing REAL young players for Ghana. Where are all those Ghana players that placed third, bronze, in last year's Under-20 world cup? I know we develop slowly but if we find the right aged people, we may build a lasting and successful senior team. Let's to this together for mother Ghana, please.

There is no other plan better than graduating from the junior teams into the BS. Ghana does participate and that is all the players need the next thing is how to develop from there and that lies solely on the players period! Even in your time where the BS was owned by you alone, you never weep. Now that no individual players can claim ownership you say what? What a hypocrite!!! With all that you did in football you never won any cup for Ghana because of your selfishness so please shut up!!!

No one know the GFA budget they do not make it public we as the people must be able to see all the GFA budget.

Out of 21 players who featured in the WC U20 2009 7 players are doing alright: Samuel Inkoom, Jonathan Mensah, David Addy, Agyeman Badu, Andre Ayew, Mohammed Rabiu, and Daniel Opare. They may not be playing in top-tier teams but at least they are gainfully employed. It makes sense to also not that actually it's the above players who featured most in the Black Stars WC qualification matches. It is rare to have all 21 players translate their performance into the senior team. Some players physically max out at 20 years and then diminishing returns set in...they cannot progress but decline.

What do you mean by they are struggling on their own? They are playing in international leagues. What can the GFA do if a player like Adiyiah has been called 18 times but only scored 4 goals. Yes he did well in the U20 but his performance is poor at the moment. Waris is preferred because he has been called 9 times and he has scored 4 times. Performance statistics don't lie.
On the other hand if the GFA can come up with a strategy that actually makes a vigilant effort to monitor at least the best performers of the U20 competition such as Acheampong, Assifuah, Odjer, Rahman, Clifford Aboagye and absorb them into the senior team that will be great. The difficulty is that those players from the U20 who fail to find contracts abroad may often be at a disadvantage because Ghanaians look down upon local players in addition to the fact that the Ghana league is not vigorous enough.
Is it possible for the GFA to organize 'exhibition matches' between recent U20s against local Black Stars or even against the senior National team and see who can cope. There are so many permutations that can be tried but at the end of the day it's about FUNDS and how they are managed and who runs the show. Abedi has experience so if he has seen a problem he should suggest detailed solutions, or at least make recommendations.

The truth is all Abedi has spoken but I disagree with him to refer the Black Stars as a global brand. Black Stars is not even a continental brand yet because another country rules presently African Continental Championship. Global brand is grossly an overstatement because it doesn't just take quarter final exploit to lay claim to Global brand status. Camerron and Senegal's quarter finals achivements were not less spectacular than what Ghana did, yet they never were so noisy as Ghana makes us want to errorneously believe as though African football starts and ends with the Black Stars late entrance into African world cup family. Enough of this celebrations of mediocrity Ghana has involved itself with; in the last four years since South African world cup quarter finals exploit.

Footballer in Ghana use the nation's appearance us a stepping stone to acquire big contracts, but they charge us huge amounts before represent Us with appearance fees and winning bonuses, so before you retire there will be nothing left in GFA budget to support you. Learn from other African country footballers patriotism. You can't charge 100,000 dollars appearance fees and winning bonuses and needs something after you retired, the country spend a lot to prepare for competition. Remember you guys are not the only people working for the nation the military are to received 135 dollars a day in peacekeeping but ask how much GAF paid them. Advice your junior one to be patriotic for your better future.

Most national coaches pay attention to their national leagues for the purpose of building their national teams.AA flies from country to country picking individual players to form the national team for whom he has no strategy. They therefore play as individuals.AA should start executing his own coaching plans with the local boys from the local league before he moves that plan to the senior team.

Abedi i for one have no doubt about your dedication and commitment to Ghana but your only shortfall during your playing days was your divisive manner which deprived you and the many talented chaps in the team to win more silverware for the nation.
You can put that right now by contributing through your vast experience, understanding and knowledge of the game to help Ghana which you're a proud citizen and love so much.
Remember,Maradona once said he will like to coach the Argentina national team for free.
That's the kind of attitude we expect from you and other past good players of the Black Stars.
Please put every differences you might have with GFA officials, your ex team mates and in fact everybody aside and join or offer what you have to help Ghana to win trophies.
Take inspirations from Stephen Keshi of Nigeria.Don't let your knowledge go wasted use it to help your country you love so much.

I thought that's the rationale behind having the starlets, satellites, meteors to serve as feeders for the BS. While some players go through the ranks, others skip, others emerge from nowhere and a few through change of nationality. And of course some will fade away. That's nature. It is the BS manager's responsibility to ensure that players at all levels are monitored and the prodigious given early trials at higher senior levels. As an example, the involvement of players like Assifuah and Clifford Aboagye in the BS should happen pretty soon. Interaction with the senior players will help boost their confidence.

I've been following Ghana football for quiet sometime now but I've never seen a player who would sacrifice everything on the pitch for Ghana than Abedi Pele. Had Abedi played in the final in Senegal 92, Ghana won't be crying about trophy. It is not for nothing that Kwabena Yeboah named him the Maestro. When he talks he knows what he is saying. It is high time we respect men like Abedi and avoid insulting men who deserve our respect and pay heed to their advise.
