Corruption is as old as the old Methusela and it prevails all over the world,the advance world and the third world.{1} In recent times a director of the biggest football club in that country was caught in cheating, by not honouring his tax obligations running into several millions of euros {2}The president of an advance country was removed for using his position to acquire a loan from a bank with a small interest.{3}A man who was schedduled to become the head of the communist one party system in the largest communist country of the world, was removed for malfeasence when his wife was caught in the murder of her British business partner which he was also implicated.In all these cynarios,the culprits were charged to the offence reigned before the courts, found them guilty and credible punishments were meted out to them as a precidence to avoid recurrance of these practice.In Ghana or African states,one becomes an honorable person, and therefore untauchable when he is voted to become an M.P, recieves fat salaries with fringe benefits and in addition banbusles the ignorance to take bribes and get away freely with his bootys and begins to bluff the same people who voted him to power.Is it sound for us to send represetatives to the so-called National Assemlies only to go and make money and forget their altimate responsibilities to serve their communities.We need the intervention of God not the military since they are also the same.The military must be villant to guard and guide against aggression of other countries who may attempt to enchroach upon our territorial integrity of the country.

Are MPs well paid? MPs are representatives of the people. For MPs to be effective the chiefs, assembly men and opinion leaders in the constituencies must have regular dialogue with the MPs, demand answers to problems in the constituency and ask of the national budget and issues of national significance. The constituents must not forgive any MP who betrays them. There must be adequate media coverage of parliamentary activities and randomly how MPs are faring in their constituencies. If you know of any MP who has taken bribe report the MP to his constituents.

After winning an election a newly elected Parliamentarian must leave his constituency and come to Accra the National capital to represent his constituency while at the same time providing feedback to his constituents. In order to represent his or her constituency effectively a parliamentarian should be able to communicate in the language he or she feels most comfortable in. Many parliamentarians come from constituencies where English is not the first language. A parliamentarian may be educated, understand English and belong to one profession or another but would prefer to communicate in the language of his or her constituency.

Parliament must therefore provide interpreters for all the major language blocks. Parliament must also provide earphones so that if one MP is speaking in a different language the other MPs can all understand. Language must not be a barrier to effective repesentation.

Parliament must also provide a readily available renovated residence to a newly elected parliamentarian. Accommodation in Accra is expensive and not every newly elected parliamentarian will have the money to rent a home in the national capital. Each MP must be given an office, a bodyguard and a secretary.

Which SANE UNCOMPROMISED LEGISLATOR, instead of throwing it away, will even entertain passing this P;ant Breeders Bill which seeks to control our food supply, and thereby re-colonize us? It is now open: THE HESITATION BY PARLIAMENT, TO THROW IT AWAY, OR AMEND IT BY DELETING OFFENDING CLAUSES (23 FOR EXAMPLE) IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN BRIBED!!

An ‘enormous gulf’ has been exposed between the EU and the US through Europe’s reluctance to buy hormone meat or GM food from the US. Industry and labor groups voiced concern to EU and US negotiators that the globe’s biggest trade pact was under threat.
“There is an enormous gulf between the EU and US positions,” said Michael Dolan, a lobbyist for the US Teamsters Union at the fourth round of trade talks between the EU and US in Brussels on Wednesday.
The talks marked an unusual occasion, being the first time that lobbyists were received, and additionally marking the first time that the forum allowed reporters inside.
Those involved in negotiating a pact have expressed a desire to finalize a deal before the end of the year. Eight months of talks have already passed. However, tensions which have underscored trade talks worldwide have been a drawback, and continued low public support for the deal has exacerbated tensions over food.
Despite this, its supporters say the deal would lead to some $100 billion per year in growth on both sides, and the EU says that ‘Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership’ (TTIP) is under threat from protesters it deems ‘anti-globalization’.
In 2012, the EU exported $16.6 billion in farm produce to the US, while US farmers delivered $9.9 billion to Europe. The gap was largely blamed on the EU ban on GM food imports.
“Our trade could be way bigger,” Douglas Nelson, a CropLife America adviser told Reuters. “The TTIP is a way to normalize trade with the European Union.”
However, EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht frequently reasserts that there will be no changes to the EU regulation of GM food even if an agreement is reached with the US.
The EU is also closed to US beef from cattle raised with growth hormones.
On March 10, the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) secretary, Owen Paterson, added his backing to an EU proposal that may prompt the fast-tracking of GM crops for commercial cultivation in the country.
Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, GM Freeze, the Soil Association and GeneWatch UK added their signatures to a letter to UK Prime Minister David Cameron condemning the plans.
GeneWatch UK director, Helen Wallace, stated that Monsanto and other GM companies were “desperate to push their GM crops into other countries before the devastating impacts on wildlife and farming destroy existing markets,” according to local publication Farmers Weekly.
