Just because talk is presumed to be cheap does not warrant mindless suggestions as solutions for issues of national importance.
Ex-president J.A. Kufour did not solve problems of his own administration like an intelligent leader of a free nation should; he sold Ghanaian assets on the cheap pocketed most of the money and facilitated the daylight robbery by the men and women who served in his administration. At the end of his 8-year term he was rewarded with a retirement package that makes mockery of Ghana's poor who toiled for many decades as civil servants for government administrations past.
Ex-president J.J. Rawlings was a leader who knew rule by brute force, intimidation and or abuse with occasional killings. To some of you, Ghanaians who engaged in undesired activities killed by J.J. Rawlings and his band of uncivilized military men deserved what was visited unto them by Rawlings and yet Rawlings ensured he could not be judged on the very standards he set for others. These are not men of honor, moral turpitude and they surly do not have the intellectual capacity to be goat herders on the international stage. Ex-president Kufour and ex-UN chief Kofi Annan are good beggars but Ghana cannot continue to live as a beggar nation if we are to be taken serious as a freed nation.
People who would even think it should understand in the past twenty (20) years nations like South Korea, Brazil, India, Malaysia and others have forged forward into emerging market nation status because of three things accomplished under serious thinking leaders with love for their respective nations. They did so by raising educational standards through improving school structures; not free education first. They made sure the ratio of schools to school age children were reasonable. They also made sure that while improving school facilities, the national infrastructures were upgraded and brought up to par to meet future developments while they encourage and invested in two important sectors of their respective economies; agriculture and telecommunications for industrial growth. In Ghana our members of parliament and political leaders in cohorts with the selfish and hypocritical small educated elite chose individual greed over the welfare of the nation. As such we do not have reliable supply of electricity, pipe borne water supply and above all we cannot even feed ourselves. A nation that cannot feed itself is a nation of either lazy people or people desperately in need of a strong willed people or race of people willing to force work ethics on the masses for their own survival. But the one thing we have learned and oh so well is to steal, mismanage and get money for no work and it shows with our members of parliament, Municipals administrators and everyone in position of authority.
Sending these three people as Ghana's salesmen is just a waste of money and an exercise in futility because all we are bound to get from civilized nations is nothing but handout. Leaders of every civilized nation is responsible for the safety, security, welfare and economic prosperity of its people and not a savior of mismanaged African countries where their leaders do talk a whole lot of crap even as the siphon off their national treasury for safe keeping in foreign banks and financial institutions.

We keep making the same mistakes over and over again. We are a country full of fools. No wonder any politician with half a brain can take us for a ride.

If I had my way, both former leaders would be shot at a firing squad for being accessories to putting Ghanaians through hell on earth. Mahama is just reaping what was sown for him by those two fools. You think the hardships Ghana is facing is an overnight thing? These problems have their roots 20 years back. Rawlings started and Kuffuor just kept them going. These problems were more than 20 years in the making.

Good idea but would regret bitterly if implemented. Hon, have you ever heard this man Rawlings talking any good about our country Ghana and her governments outside the borders of Ghana. His trumpet is always '..the government at home is corrupt' from the Head of state to even the assemblyman in my village who mobilizes people to do communal work. I suggest the only external appointment he can fit is for him to report himself to the ICC to vet him and go everywhere showing how saintly good he has been when in power

Mr. Ussif Mustapha, I think you are out of your mind to even suggest that the two Ex-Presidents have what it takes to represent Ghana as the country's economic ambassadors. What did you see in those two Ex's that made you to conclude that they have the integrity, especially Rawlings to be our economic Ambassador. I think of the people you suggested, Mr. Kofi Annan is the only one who is worthy of such an honor because he is a man of integrity, decent, honorable and internationally well known and respected, and has had a distinguished career in the world of international diplomacy.
I believe if Mr. Mahama had put the country's economic priorities in a proper perspectives, the economic problem the country is facing today could have been better managed.

An open gate way for ku4 and jj to loot us again, birds of the same feather; anyway which president or politician is good, none,remember $20 US million dollars budget for the national team's debut in the world cup when most developed nations team's in the world cup are under $5 US million dollars.Our hospitals lack drugs, most of our elementary schools buildings are in bad shape and some lack the necessary books/ materials, just to mention a few - $20US million dollars for the Black Star's budget hmmm, there's something drastically wrong somewhere and Mahama or GFA doesn't care; we GHanaians should have a massive protest now, not after the world cup; some teachers/nurses not getting paid,people don't have enough to eat, oh! this is an insult to we Ghanaians and it's about we citizens woke up from our slumber and Black Stars should better bring home the world cup! What kind of president do we have in the first place?

Many of this administrators frustrate investors by sitting on their paper work wanting personal gains, deteriment to natioanl interest. Jobs would be created when Ghanaians are hired. It is the only way out. We should endeavour to be selfless. Our laws are too laxed when it comes to punishing corrupt officials.
