Dead or alive, new borns should be united with the parents or the mother. Especially when the new born is dead - this allows the family to grief. As a healthworker myself, I think the decision of the staff being at post still shows clinical negligence at its highest in KATH. The staff on duty, care assistants, midwives, doctors and auxillary staff that came in contact with 3 missing babies and their parents should be suspended or at least placed on interim working conditions until full investigations have completed. It should be important to accept errors, apologise, pay compensation to the grieving families and implement new procedures/policies are are safe for mother who come to deliver there so that such issue does not repeat itself.

Obaa Yaa, you just spoke my mind, thank you and God bless you for standing for the truth. i hope that more health workers with conscience and who have passion for the work will come out and condemn such a barbaric act. this is the worse that can happen to any woman on earth; go to the hospital give birth and the baby will be stolen. this will certainly discourage people from going to that hospital to give birth. if i were to living in kumasi, i would prefer to have my child at home than to go to such hospital full of demons, yes, i just said demons and i repeat it because it's only demons that can do that and they had better look for the babies for their parents. the whole world is watching!

Aside babies getting missing there are unconfirmed reports of illicit plastic surgeries being performed in some hospitals in Ghana. With the capabilities of plastic surgery today it is imperative that every plastic surgery be approved by the Ghana Armed Forces as it has security implications. This may be a daunting task but the GAF must make it fairly easy to oversee it.

If they were competent they would have been the first to carry out the necessary investigations and report to the MOH.
If they do not knnow what to do and had be told,why the state is paying them to do nothing?
The time is due for the government to set up an independent Commission to investigate abuses, irregularities

It is has now become very clear that the management at KATH lack credibility, ability to manage, good leadership, respect for human rights, and they must go and the time is now, this is what happens if you put political appointees in positions of trust rather than the qualified people with the skills. I also find it very unbelievable and unacceptable that the management has to wait for directives to come from the ministry of healthy before acting, I find this very shameful and incompetents on behalf of management. What is the CEO doing after all this time? Waiting for directives from a minister before acting under such situations is totally unpardonable.
If the management team at KATH were hard hit by this saga, they will be the first to investigate this saga and all other issues such as illegal collection of moneys by health professionals, redirecting of patients from KATH to private hospitals by some consultants, some nurses selling medications to patients, use of mobile phones by health workers whilst treating patients, even mortuary men mismanaging the facilities to their benefit, and not to wait for directives from above before taking actions.
If they do not know what to do in situations difficulty situations and had to wait only to be told, why is the state is paying the CEO and others so much money and benefits? I think this time for the government to institute a public enquiry or to set up an independent Commission to investigate abuses, irregularities, bad practices misuse of resources that has gone all over these years including the baby stealing saga in the hospitals in the country. I also think that Madam Suwaiba must be compensated for her loss and coming to fight for her right.

I am just a bit curious ooh. I want to know the correct spelling of that mighty hospital in Kumasi where almost all the doctors agitations and strike actions originate from? Is the spelling OKOMFO ANOKYE OR KOMFO ANOKYE? If it is the former which I believe according to the spelling on the signboard then the abbreviation for the hospital should be OATH and not KATH. In this case I will entreat all the staff of the hospital to conduct themselves according to the tenets of that abbreviation. This is just my candid opinion ooh.
