  Planning on building? I hope it is not their own!
  This is one area in which I have not been able to understand the intended outcomes of govt policy are. We often hear it is about food security;but why have adequate provision not been made to ensure no losses occur in the supply chain? Can peoples interest[particularly the youth]be chanelled into Agriculture when the old and poor farmers who have adopted modern farming methods that have led to increased harvests,are being made to bear all costs of post-harvest losses,largely as a result of the lack of infrastructure like roads; storage facilities;price -support mechanisms,etc? Why can`t the govt encourage some of these unemployed graduates in business and agriculture to set-up simple operations close to some of these farming communities,to process some of these perishable food items that can easily be transported to markets in the urban areas? Can you imagine the spin-offs[employment] that would be generated along the line? Individual farmers can also be urged to form co-ops to take part in this effort. Not everyoe has to be tied to the land,so to speak!
