we always wait for things to go wrong,for people to shout and then we act,ie the cedi,water,legon tolls,demolition of buildings and electricity.why is it so? why can't people who are paid do their work well

Simple, gwsc must work day , night and on weekends and public holiday to reduce the project time. They must not close at 5pm for us to suffer. For once gwsc apply common sense.

This is 2014 and Ghana is still having problems with providing clean drinking water to its citizens. During the Nkrumah regime, he made sure every town had a water tank providing water to the citizens of that area. Up to date, there has not been any improvement to these tanks. The capacity of those tanks should have been expanded with additional tanks as the population of the area increases.

In the advance world like the USA, there is a water tank for every city with powerful water pumps to pump water from the ground to maintain the water level in the tank. In addition, there is a water processing dam to pump water back into the tank if the water supply from the "borehole" goes down.

One of the agreement the world bank forgave Ghana 4 billion dollars in debt during the Kufour administration was to provide clear drinking water. apparently, this never happened.

The plan layout for the department of Water Works should be to drill deeper "boreholes" with powerful water pumps to pump water to a big water tank in every town with a back up water processing plant. From here pipelines constructed to every house with a meter to charge monthly usage. That is how it is done in the USA.

This is not rock science, if we can get gold, diamonds, bauxite and other minerals from the ground, why cant we get common water from the ground for our citizens.

The same simple idea of home owners putting tanks on top of their houses to capture rain water for house use could be used to provide water to Ghanaians but with additional boreholes to pump water to maintain the tank. It is sad to see people queuing in line with buckets for water just like in the 70s and 80s. This is 2014 Ghana water Works Wake up. I understand the government has invested some 790 million dollars for this purpose, what is the plan for solving this water crisis.? I hope is not just drilling boreholes and having citizens to go get the water in buckets.

With all the rivers, lagoons and lakes in the country, the people are thirsty, cannot wash their bodies and clothes etc, etc, etc. Just think about the clean water the politicians/government can provide to the people if they have not stolen our money and stashed away in america and european banks. The ignorant citizens have been manipulated by the ignorant tribal and political leaders and you are paying for you tribal stupidity. Running a government is not like running tribal council. Mahama and his arrogant and ignorant student advisers cannot help anybody in the country. They were/are poor unemployable students who were struggling to pay the studets loans, who were brought into the government by the benevolent Robin Hood/Ata Mills the worst and the weakest president this country has ever had. Poor school children do not run a government- not even in Kalahari desert except in Ghana. This is just beginning of worse things to come. What is the use hiding the stolen money outside the country, and denying yourself the little comfort. Ignorance is mother of all diseases, and there is plenty among the Ghanaian/african leaders.
