If the Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:3 to commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. What is wrong with praying for our currency? And from the John 15:5 says "I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing". If we as Christians can accomplish nothing without Him, what is wrong with praying?

The cause for this bad culture is not far fetched. It began in 1979 when a GENERAL in the GHANA ARMED FORCES had to SALUTE a FLIGHT LIEUTENANT, A SARGEANT or a WARRANT OFFICER. When a HEAD OF STATE appears on TV, INSULTS and used gestures that are very disrespectful; like pointing a finger to the head above the ear indicating 'you are not sensible'. This was alien to our culture, but it did happened. Why will anyone be surprised when today, a minister appears on TV or RADIO and insult people? When a professor is made the deputy minister for not a relatively well educated person. In that era, respect for the elderly, women, the clergy and for each other went down drastically and has continue ever since.

The age-old Ghanaian culture of deferring to elders even when a child is right and the elder is wrong will surely disappeare because there were elders in Israel but others as young as David and Solomon were made Kings.
There mere fact you have gray hair or an elder does not make you wise and that is what is killing Africa and Ghana in particular. Under no circumstances should any elder be disrespected but look at Mr. Tweaaa DCE did, is that how an elderly person and moreover a DCE should behave in public. This is a foolish elder and he does not respect himself. If elders want respect they must comand respect, have respect for others and others will give them respect. Respect should not be automatic but earned.

There are so many men of God who are there for their pockets and money while their folk cannot even afford one good meal a day in Ghana.
Just as Jesus preached most of this so called men of Ghana should sell their property and use the money to feed the week ones in the society for it is only that they will see the Kingdom of Ghana.

I used to attend his church but I left when he divorced his wife and remarried. My fear was that if I did not leave, then my own marriage was under threat of divorce because the church's new outlook on divorce which they had then begun to teach to salve the conscience of the archbishop and to justify his conduct, could very well poison my wife's mind for our marriage.

Duncan William's recent condemnation of non-achievers shows that this man has no breaks on his temper and secondly, it also reveals a type of complex in him in the sense that he feels that people who are better educated are a threat to his complete dictatorship in his church.How can you say that the way people are looking at you whilst you are preaching means that they think they are better than you and hence you have to remind them of your high achievements to let them know that even with their good education, they are nothing before you. Why don't you rather pray for God to touch their hearts and melt their hearts so that their faith will increase for them to believe. I am glad I saw that this man cannot be a worthy spiritual leader for me and hence I left. I feel sorry for those who continue to troup there every week to be disrespected, ill-treated and fleeced off in the name of the gospel.

Does it mean that at the time he was insulting financially struggling people in his church, there were no well educated elders in his church who are struggling financially? If there were well educated but financially struggling elderly people in his church yet he could not hold the breaks when he condemned all financially struggling people, then he does not qualify to complain about respect for the elderly. Surely, he cannot be the oldest person in his church so if he had no qualms about mounting the podium to insult financially struggling elderly people who disagree with him, them he should spare us about the lack of respect by younger people who equally disrespect him because such young people are only copying from him, period!!!

I don't know what is happening to Ghana's big names in charismatism. From Mensa Otabil, to Duncan Williams and a host of them, we see behaviour and hear utterances that make the fetish priests and prietesses look far better at public relations!!!

There's something fundamentally wrong with the age-old tradition of the youth deferring to errring elders . It defies logic and neither is it based upon the principles of righteousness. This is one of the many reasons why is crumbling and retogressing instead of progressing. When you are wrong you are simply wrong. It has nothing to do with age. The tradition which gives us a sense of pride was unfortunately built on false precepts and concepts . We have failed as a people to hold our leaders, both political, religious and traditional, accountable for their stewardship. That's a recipe for failure and disaster. Some things must change if we want to progress as a people. We can't afford any more to maintain the status quo that has failed us.
