We must know that this is Ghana! Everybody does what suits him!
The University decided thsy wanted more cash, and one way to get what they want is to increase the taxing of students. We all know that only the government can charge tolls. So if the university is not stopped, then the chief of my village will one day erect a booth at the outskirts of the town to collect tolls from all road users, animals and all. Pilots of this has been happeing around pot-hole spots all around the country, where the youth erect barriers at pot-hole hot spots to demand fees from motorists even before they fil these holes with mud which would be washed away again with the least instance of rainfall.
Now as to the actions of Col Gbevlo and his outfit, the least said about is the best. How could a whole national Security boss stoop so low? Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts more absolutely. This is Ghana!

In an environment of academicals it baffles the mind that UG could not foresee the attraction a measure affecting suppression of individual liberties would draw particularly during a period of broadened interest and participation of our judicial process - thanks to the wildly telecast of The Presidential Election Petition.
It clearly states hereunder what nuisance means in our Criminal Codes :
Section 296
Nuisances and Obstructions in Streets, and the like
Section 296—Throwing Rubbish in Street.
Whoever does any of the following acts shall be liable to a fine not exceeding ¢200,000 (GHC20.00) namely—
(1) in any town places, or causes or permits to be placed, any carrion, filth, dirt, refuse, or rubbish, or any offensive or otherwise unwholesome matter, on any street, yard, enclosure, or open space, except at such places as may be set apart by the local authority or the health officer for that purpose; or
Nuisances.
(2) in any town commits a nuisance in any public place or open space, or in any place being an appurtenance of or adjoining a dwelling-house; or
Defacing Public Notices.
(3) wilfully defaces any public lawful notice, or removes the same from any place where it is lawfully affixed; or
Defacing building, etc...........
Obstructing Public Way.
(16) by obstructing any public way, wilfully prevents or hinders the free passage of any other person or of any vehicle; or
Impediments in public way.
(17) without the consent of the local authority of the Ghana Highway Authority, places or leaves anything in a public way to the obstruction, danger or annoyance of users of that public way; or
Not keeping roadway clear.
(18) being the occupier of any land or building situate in a town, does not clear and keep free from all dirt, underbush, underwood, weeds, high grass, rubbish, rags, broken bottles, refuse, and all offensive matter (filling up all holes with stones, gravel, or other like materials), the streets or roads, at the front-back, and sides thereof, with the drains, gutters, and channels thereon; and, if any such building is unoccupied, the owner shall for this purpose be deemed the occupier: Provided that when there are two lots of land contiguous to any street, road, drain, gutter, or channel, and facing each other, the occupier of each lot shall be responsible for keeping clean only the half of the street or road, and the drain, gutter, or channel nearest to his lot; or
.......
The UG is a public Institution and an entity in Ghana which is not exempted from opbeying the laws of Ghana.
What The National Security Co-ordinator did was an ultra vires reaction to a duty call which by far exceeded the punishment alloted to such misdemeanour infraction, being a fine of GHC 20.00. He took the law into his hand and did what the local police or highway administrator should have done.
Clearly Ghana has a long way to go but incidents like this and more bring out the poor style of management of public affairs and questions the depth of thought behind policy execution and actions. A lesson we are beginning to grab under this incompetent public administrators.

when the elephants were ruling, all that kweku ananse baako knew was to go to the then national security coordinator, collect money in polythene bags and go share with the likes of Egbert, sefa kayi and other members of the labadi coffee mafia, whose mission was to whitewash all the dirty deals of thief ku4 and his gang of thieves, for them to look like angels in the eyes of Ghanaians. such monies were meant for ensuring absolute security of the state but under the directives of thief ku4, such monies have to be put in polythene bags and hand over to baako to go and share with his accomplices in crime. he kweku ananse baako does not know the kind of symptoms that can spark public violence. he does not know that common public nuisance can spark fire like the way a little fire grows and consume a whole community. he thinks the national security council is there sharing money, including drug monies to his likes in the past. he does not know that even the national security, beside protecting lives and properties, also has a role to ensure that foods and water being consumed by members of the public are protected from being laced with poisonous materials. all that kweku ananse baako knows is that the national security has in stock monies in polythene bags to be shared among media men and women because he and the blay families and others, benefited a lot from the then former national security coordinator, mr francis poku and yet when mr frances poku's life was threatened by thief ku4 and his gang of thieves, he kweku ananse and his gang took to their heels and took cover whilst kwesi pratt junior had to risk his life to ensure mr frances poku was not lynched by ku4 and his evil gang. he kweku ananse baako has not been a police officer or a military officer before as such he does not know exactly the mandate of the national security. he only knows of one and only one thing, money in black polythene bags, that's all!

We'll like to bring PEACE FM'S attention to the situation that is going on in their sister Radio station at GhanaToday HOLLAND. It has been cleared to the listeners of Ghana Today radio , how the presenter Kofi nyarko was rude to the sympathizers of the ruling NDC Gov, on his "wosukabi" program. Kofi nyarko did not end his rudeness, but Kofi organized members from his npp party, especially those who were akan's, they were carefully selected to come on air to dehumanized the rest of the tribes here in Ghana on his radio show. We the listeners here in Ghana can confirm to the PEACE FM management that the home grown npp terrorist who is now residing in Holland kofi nyarko, has done the same thing he was used to on Monday the 10th of February, when one of his regular caller named Joe Canada ,the sympathizer of the ruling NDC Gov. We heard this gentleman who called the program to refute to the comments one of the caller who is also a sympathizer of the opposition party the npp. The npp man called the program and run insults and accused the people from the Volta Region for the hardships the country is currently facing, he said according to him, he didn't understand why the Ewe's should elect somebody like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa as their MP , he asked? He went on by saying the Ewe's gives their Votes to anything in front of them, even animals. This uncalled-for words goes down well for the host Kofi nyarko which he congratulated the frustrated npp caller. When the sympathizer to the ruling NDC Gov, Joe Canada, also call the program to refute the unfortunate comments from the npp caller, kofi nyarko who can't hide his affection support for the opposition p npp party ,quickly jumped to defend the npp caller. Kofi nyarko gave his strong warning to the NDC caller not to dare call his radio programs to contribute again, he went on to said , he won't even pick up his call anytime he sees he Joe Canada's number on his phone. These ugly situations compelled some of us to send a strong warning to PEACE FM management, to urgently arrest this situation before its get out of hands. We believed kofi nyarko is trying hard to sow a tribal seeds between us here in GHANA and abroad. The management of PEACE FM must know that kofi nyarko who was placed on npp pay roll to tarnish the ruling NDC Gov, and his division tactics by playing a tribal cards is dangerous to our society and our young democracy here in GHANA We are looking forward to see the management of PEACE FM to call un-erected host kofi nyarko to immediate order before we hit the street of Accra.

First it was feeding students at the Cafeteria as if the students are pre-school kids.
Take these ideas for free and implement. Construct advertizing spaces along all roads (just like in most stadia) in the University since the management is so attached to roads, get companies and organizations to purchase these spaces to advertise and make that money.
The vehicles plying the roads would have their passengers seeing these adverts and your aim is achieved without being sued or having toll booths uprooted.
