In fact, Mahama should immediately change his mind without delay. What is wronmg with this man at all? I urge Ghanaians not to allow this one too to happen. The construction companies in the country should demonstrate violently against this decision. Morroco? My goodness! Even if Morocco is the one giving us the funds for this projects, we have the experts to execute the projects ourselves, for several reasons. Houses are expensive because we have not developed local products for construction. Steel, iron rods, cement, glass and other materials needed for construction are imported. The few factories which Nkrumah set up to produce these have been allowed to collapse. Secondly we must bridge the technical know how gap in this area.

The man has his hands in so many never ending contracts that he can not be trusted any more. His credibility is zero. Case in point, see Lonrho seeking sovereign guarantees to obtain loans to construct an oil berth at Cape Three Point, In the Western Show boys land solely for oil intakes and outflows for an amount of $400 million dollars. A credible company does not take sovereign credit from a local government to do business. Ghana needs DFIS and not the other way round. Even the US encourages DFIS from China. Another GYEEDA in the making. Morocco has huge housing deficit and how can Morocco help Ghana in the housing industry? Now the two brothers of Mahama are reported to be operating from the presidency with tax payers furnished office. In what capacities are they there and for what roles and who pays them? WE The People of Ghana demand to know. Parliament must act to stop the power hungry and excessive power grabbing by Mahama. The man must be checked on his spending spree. The man is reckless with the peoples money. Mahama is apparently violating his presidential limits and by extension violating the Supreme Law of the land, The 4th Republican Constitution. It also amounts to violating the separation of powers between the Judiciary and Parliament as co-equals of the government apparatus. This is an impeachable offense. we do not trust this Moroccan company and parliament must investigate them.

Almost every year there are Ghana Exhibitions in London and many cities in the UK. I have had the opportunity of attending some of the exhibitions and have met some of the contractors and estate developers. I was very impressed with the quality of their designs and houses built. So, I thought that Ghana has all the expertise in the housing sector. I was wrong. Now out of a bloom pops out Morroco. Who are they? Was this project put out for tender? How did the Addoha Group hear that the Government of Ghana was in need of low cost social housing when local companies did not. After the STX scandal was it not local company(ies) that the government turned to for help. The absence of tendering process, the key element for ensuring value for money, makes me wonder if this goverment is really serious about strengthening public precurement processes and procedures.

YAOUNDE May 9 (Reuters) - Morroco's leading home builder Addoha Group will start construction of a 20 million euro ($25.9 million) cement plant this month in Cameroon's economic capital Douala, the company said on Wednesday, in one of its first international ventures.

The plant will start up in December and produce some 500,000 tonnes of cement per year, Addoha Group President Anas Sefrioui said over state radio after a meeting with Cameroon President Paul Biya.

He added that Addoha intends to invest in the construction of low cost housing in the central African country "so as to give Cameroonians the opportunity to have comfortable lodgings". He gave no further details that aspect of the project.

Addoha is Morroco's top property developer but is seeking to expand its business into West and Central Africa. It said in its most recent earnings statement in March that it is seeking to enter the real estate markets in Ivory Coast and Guinea amid growing demand for housing.

Cameroon currently has only one cement producing company, CIMENCAM, with output of about 1 million tonnes from two plants.

Nigeria's Dangote Group inked an agreement with Cameroon last year to set up a 1.5 million tonne per year cement factory in Douala, though construction work has been delayed due to a legal dispute over land rights. ($1 = 0.7733 euros) (Reporting by Tansa Musa; Editing by Richard Valdmanis)
