We'll like to bring PEACE FM'S attention to the situation that is going on in their sister Radio station at GhanaToday HOLLAND. It has been cleared to the listeners of Ghana Today radio , how the presenter Kofi nyarko was rude to the sympathizers of the ruling NDC Gov, on his "wosukabi" program. Kofi nyarko did not end his rudeness, but Kofi organized members from his npp party, especially those who were akan's, they were carefully selected to come on air to dehumanized the rest of the tribes here in Ghana on his radio show. We the listeners here in Ghana can confirm to the PEACE FM management that the home grown npp terrorist who is now residing in Holland kofi nyarko, has done the same thing he was used to on Monday the 10th of February, when one of his regular caller named Joe Canada ,the sympathizer of the ruling NDC Gov. We heard this gentleman who called the program to refute to the comments one of the caller who is also a sympathizer of the opposition party the npp. The npp man called the program and run insults and accused the people from the Volta Region for the hardships the country is currently facing, he said according to him, he didn't understand why the Ewe's should elect somebody like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa as their MP , he asked? He went on by saying the Ewe's gives their Votes to anything in front of them, even animals. This uncalled-for words goes down well for the host Kofi nyarko which he congratulated the frustrated npp caller. When the sympathizer to the ruling NDC Gov, Joe Canada, also call the program to refute the unfortunate comments from the npp caller, kofi nyarko who can't hide his affection support for the opposition p npp party ,quickly jumped to defend the npp caller. Kofi nyarko gave his strong warning to the NDC caller not to dare call his radio programs to contribute again, he went on to said , he won't even pick up his call anytime he sees he Joe Canada's number on his phone. These ugly situations compelled some of us to send a strong warning to PEACE FM management, to urgently arrest this situation before its get out of hands. We believed kofi nyarko is trying hard to sow a tribal seeds between us here in GHANA and abroad. The management of PEACE FM must know that kofi nyarko who was placed on npp pay roll to tarnish the ruling NDC Gov, and his division tactics by playing a tribal cards is dangerous to our society and our young democracy here in GHANA We are looking forward to see the management of PEACE FM to call un-erected host kofi nyarko to immediate order before we hit the street of Accra.

I think the best place to be posting this is the website of PeaceFm. I wonder if you have tried that, not that it'd make much difference since the bloke is simply a reflection of the general mind-set of the sordid lot he represents.
But, above all, make a complaint to the Dutch Authorities under their Villification Act. Practically all the European countries have such laws against racial demonisation and villification of others. A lot of what some Akans say against Ewes in particular on Ghanaweb, and even in Ghana, would have earned them jail sentences in Europe if said against Jews, for instance. Even white racist parties can't say those things against us without consequences for them.

I've attended three (3) universities in the USA and none of them sold stickers to me; what they rather do is to give duly registered students decals from the campus police upon showing a valid students' ID. The students are required to display the decals on their car windows. These decals are not sold and it means that any car parked on that campus without the decal are ticketed (fined) payable at either the university's business office (accounts office) or at the campus police office.

I am not sure what the 3 universities you attended are but many universities in the US do not provide free parking for students, employees and visitors. I totally agree that tolls to the Legon campus made no sense -- Legon is the first university that I know of that you have to pay to simply drive through the university. To show case the universities some may provide short term visitors parking which the ticket may require a stamp or some other authorized exit ticket, also some discounts may be provided to faculty and students depending on the university policy. The government needs to do what is required of them to prevent this nonsense. Governments are responsible for road repairs etc. in Ghana.

In Ghana we dont do that.. what a heck lets do it anyway before we look. thats why we always fail to accomplish anything. We build highways before we think about Pedestrian crossings - placed at wrong unneeded spots. We spend like crazy before we realize we dont have money left for anything ... crazy hefty appointments that come with heavy salaries and many foolish acts like Three Weeks Thank You Tour which bled the coffers unnecessarily.
Who paid for all legal expenses for The EC, Mahama and The NDC ? Do we even know how much we are supposed to collect from each Toll Booth a day based upon statistical evaluation and average count of number of vehicles that pass through each booth ? No we havent even dreamt about all these things. We act like Zombies floating at the direction of any wind that blows across our paths. Our leaders in administration, parliament and judiciary are pampered by their own self ambitions. They dont even understand their roles as public servants. They want the public to serve them by way of foolish imposition of taxes and levies anytime their whims direct them into doing .. be it electricity levy or water rate increase with callous disregard for how best services are rendered in return. The sad part is where a sizable number of zombies fail to recognize their own suffering as a result of this continuous incompetence and put out crazy defenses or justification for their suffering. The citizens are themselves to be blamed for their overstretched tolerance. Vote all these idiots out of power ... I mean all of them from Top Down to build a better nation. Their minds are worthless AND CANT HELP US. Just ask yourself what happens to our OIL, our GOLD, our COCOA, our BAUXITE, our IRON, our DIAMONDS, our EXCISE TAX, our INCOME TAX....and on top of all that THE HEFTY LOANS (BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ) ? Mismanagement, maladministration and corruption have seized and taken control of all these people in authority ... Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. Ghana does not have what it takes to build a successful nation. VOTE ALL OF THEM OUT OF OFFICE AND BRING BACK SANITY. These people are building the roofs before laying the foundations. IDIOTS !!

If parliament has nothing better to do they should focus on socalled fertility mamagement being advocated by Al Gore and other western countries as an attempt to stem population growth in Africa. How do they want to control Africa's population growth rate? The answer is through GMOs - homosexsuality, culture adulteration and other lab experiments. Hey parliament, these are some of the things you need to work on and prevent Ghana from falling prey to the such gimicks. Who is checking the excess travels of the president for his frivilous tours around the world when there is so much at home for him to attend to? Leave Accra legon alone. The mamagement of Legon are using the academic sense to keep the school and its administration running. They are creatively making employment available to needy Ghanaians and saving jobs. What are you people in parliament doing to impress on the mahama regime to creat jobs for the labour force in Ghana? If you have nothing to do just shut up! A do nothing parliament. Investigating Legon for creating jobs for Ghanains indeed!!!

Why do Ghanaians who have had the opportunity to live, study and or work in civilized Western nation always throw their two cents in issues affecting Ghana by dragging up irrelevant comparisons or comparative analysis? Does it ever occur to these people desperate for Ghanaian to know of their travels to the US and or UK, Germany and others that the US has a constitution, has independent, effective civic institutions that are relatively free from tribal and political interference in their day to day operation while the people elected to serve on the various institutions serve with honor and love of country?
In Ghana most of the people in positions of authority and power do have loyalty to tribe and or political party and not for country while the constitution we claim to have on our books was carved out to serve the interest of the few powerful educated and political elite purely to exempt themselves from prosecution at some future date and time for their misdeeds in office. Before any of these people claiming to know about what goes on at university and or college sites around the USA they must first know the only blanket statement that may hold true is that people attending those institutions are mostly American citizens. As Americans, some have had jobs through high school and through their college education. Most do and can afford to own cars that our members of parliament can only afford when they engage in bribery and corruption and our police and security officials can only dream of.
Those universities do also have respect for state legislators and thus will not engage in acts that could draw ire from their representatives. Let me put it this way folks; if a public institution in any state in the USA did engage in something this controversial without solid foundation in statute or legislative backing, those school board members will be looking for ways to appease both students and legislators. The legislators who appropriate some funding for the university would seek to pull back estimated annual revenues from self implemented tolls.
In Ghana most people of work age and most of the people who have graduated from high school and universities do not have meaningful sustainable jobs; some are at the mercy of their parents. Where the heck then does the university officials think they can extract more money from students who cannot afford to be independent? Why must the university officials engage in activities without pre-approval from the departments of education, transportation and or the legislators in parliament? We will need a new generation of Ghanaians with love of country and not for tribe or political party to make progress in this beloved country Ghana.

Please don't make comments if you're not fully informed of developments. The UG campus can now be compared to my village. Dusty roads, tro-tro stations, taxi ranks, etc. Where in the world will you find the premier higher institution of learning descended to such lows? Sure, Legon is a government-owned institution but it's statutes say the administration of the institution and all it's facilities are governed by the University of Ghana Law. The governing body administers the pace as it deems fit.
There is sign board right at the entrance that says "university of Ghana. Private property". It means that the University senate is the law making entity in that part of Ghana - a duty delegated to it by the national parliament.
If the national parliament won't find the money to do needed repairs of roads and other facilities on the campus, it's the senate's duty to find the means.
I graduated from Legon in the late 1970s, and I was very sad when I visited the campus last year - it's now dirtier, very crowded and run-down.
UG needs all the help it can get to restore it back to its glory.

First of all the university should be demarcated:
whether by wall, shrubberies, or some form of ivy fencing.
Second of all, the university authorities must exercise some form of control over the university - must have their own police force, their own bye-laws, their own transportation system, not to mention their own maintenance crew.
Which means they should have diverse ways of becoming less dependent on the government.
The toll booths are certainly one of the ways of raising money for the upkeep of the university.
Or selling SUG tee shirts & caps.

Is legon a private or public insti. If public, then, isn't it supposed to be maintained by the owners (taxpayers) for that matter the gov't? Why shouldn't the authorities compel the executive, parliament or seek redress from court to empower them to go fo the loan and setting out the grounds for repayment transparently before taking such unilateral risk. Are occupants allowed to make changes or maintenance without consent from landlord (taxpayers/gov't) then send the bill for reimbursement? Shouldn't this be a lesson to other institution planning to copy cat Legon? Wouldn't there be chaos if this becomes a precedent hence a national security issue. Should it be nipped in the bud?
