Very well said, Dr. Ndoum. Unfortunately, I doubt this president and his administration are capable of doing what needs to be done. My humble suggestions to the people of Ghana is if the president is not willing to serve the whole country rather than just "his boys and girls" then lets go the Egyptian way and the armed forces of Ghana should safe our country, re-write the constitution so DCs are elected by the people and then hand over after new elections. Viva Ghana!

The advice propounded by Dr Nduom is not the first to be proposed to the present Government by eminent personalities like Dr Ndoum which may have conflict of political agendas and would be likely to turn deaf ears to it by the rulling political elites.It would be good if Ghana would have a constitution that streses on coalition of Government when the need arises to form a Government by more than two political parties including the biggest opposition party to solve problems of the day, but not only a non performing winning party that hung on to power without performing well to the detriment of the citizenry.

The National identification system is the key to expanding our tax base. In the US and other developed countries, the social security number is required from all citizens and residents in operating in their country. Ghana needs to start a single comprehensive identification number. A data base should be compiled to include every adult private or public employee, formal and informal. We can see the results in the expansion of our tax base. Recently in Italy, when they had problems, vehicles were stopped and both drivers and passengers were asked to provide proof of paying taxes. It's our country and we can do what it takes to change the direction.

Churches that have social programs that benefits the society will be given tax exemption after they have filed their taxes. This has nothing to do with their individual taxes paid. We have churches scattered all over the country which operates as quasi businesses. We need to have the courage to loose popularity for the sake of posterity.
