In Opinion in the "Daily Graphic" newspaper today Mr. Colin Essmuah wrote and we quote "For someone who had not been brought before any court in the land to die in a condemned cell as if he was destined for the gallows after trial, his conviction and sentencing is a serious blot on the stellar careers of those who were responsible for this political crime".
Mr. Colin Essamuah want us to believe that nobody should be detained before his or her trial.
But it is a fact in every jurisdiction that when investigations concerning a crime has not been concluded, especially in the case of murder and terrorism the suspect is keep in custody, and let us call it protective and preventive custody. Such measures are taken to prevent the person falling a victim of extra judicial murder.
What I hate most is when intellectuals lie to push forward their ideological position. Let us take a look at the U.S. and her president vis a vis security. It is on record that some U.S. citizens have been in protective or preventive detention, without trail for about four years now for committing various acts against the U.S. and her president. In order to prevent ugly scene at the U.S. airports some nationals of other countries are bared from visiting their relatives in the U.S. and all that are preventive policies.
The CIA murdered Patrice Lumumba, Okito and others in 1962 and they were not given the benefit of protective or preventive detention. Amical Cabral, Samora Michael and others fat followed latter.
The child members of the Young Pioneers who were the target of Dr. Joseph Boache Danquah, R.R. Amponsah, Obetseby Lamptey and others bombs, just as the Talibans and now Al Qaeda terrorist kill and maim their child victims were not given the chance to be taken to even a police station for what alleged crime they committed. They were blown into pieces, killed and maimed by bombs supplied by Danquah and his terrorist gang.
The 1966 coup was a terrorist act against the state and people of Ghana who exercise their right to universal adult suffrage as part of the universal human right of any member of the human society. Any act of terrorism that is intended to change an act of parliament and universal adult suffrage is unaccepted, inhuman and affront on the rights of all citizens of a nation that it is aimed at.
Let Mr. Colin Essamuah know that the leftist were not given the luxury of preventive or protective detention, they were assassinated and their bodies were made to vanish.
Since after 11th September, 2001 people have been kidnapped, murdered and maimed, not upon the orders of a "communist tyrant", but by those who claim that they epitomize democracy.
We witness how Boye Moses was caged like a wild animal and paraded on the streets of major towns of Ghana upon advise to the NLC by Prof. Kofi Abrefa Busia. We are not aware of what court keep minister, party activists and member of the Young Pioneer Movement in protective detention from 1966 to 1972 or Colin Essamuah, you want us to believe that those people are less human beings, and less animals than the white man's dog which the "democrats" Danquah and Busia think they are. Kojo Addison was chased like a game before my very eyes, having knowledge of were he was hiding after the 1966 coup.

the overload by saying that J.A. Kufour's NPP government also had overload. A minister of State like Kwakye Ofosu to reason like this is a clear testimony why Mahama's government is not performing. He is one of the school boys ministers who must be fired immediately. He is just not fit as a minister of state.
Assuming that JAK overloaded his presidential staffers, what economic measures were put in place by the NPP government to offset the effects on the national economy? What social intervention policies were put in place to alleviate the suffering of the ordinary Ghanaian?
JAK made sure the economy was on sound footing, social intervention policies like NHIS, Metro mass transport,cocoa spraying,Loans for private sector development etc were in place. So even if JAK presidential staffers got overloaded, it was not as issue.
What do we see now? nothing,nothinh,nothing and nothing! the economy is in shambles, the depreciation of the cedi has taken a nose dive, no social intervention by Mahama's government,and what was bequeathed by the NPP has been run down completely. And above all, the government has overloaded the presidential staff. This does not make sense.
Kwakye Ofosu must come out of his school boy mentality, and think critically, because governance is a serious business. NDC under president Mahama is doing Crisis Management, and not governance.
Mahama should stay home and solve the multiplicity of issues confronting Ghanaians and stop gallivanting across the length and breadth of the globe. Somebody must have the guts to seize Mahama's passports,and prevent him from traveling outside the country for chilling,until the economy is properly fixed.
