Unfortunately i am always right , we have a govt that has introduced a system of govt which encourages people not to work rather they all perch on strategic posts or positions like vultures stealing , being bribed and facilitation corruption . our minister of foreign affairs Hannah tetteh ( who by the way isn't a fanti but somehow is an mp for a fanti area) will rather sell the takoradi harbor than do her job of sending condolences to the family of Shirley temple. you step out of your house today and try and do anything its always some non Akan trying to fleece you or shake you down for money and that's the gospel truth . if you are treated fair very likely it was an Akan you dealt with . this is the sorry state of affairs the curse pepeni has brought unto us . the country can never develop as long as such selfish characters are in charge so we wait for the revolution and war instead . long live the republic of Akan

Do you really believe that or you just incapable of analyzing the facts. It is a pity that you are allowing your tribal prejudices to rob you of any intelligence. Under the Kuffour government, the economy grew to about 4 times the size the (P)NDC left it. The Kuffour government introduces school feeding, NHIS etc. All these aimed at the lowest in the society. No other government since Nkrumah has done so much for the poor in Ghana. WHAT HAS THE MILLS/MAHAMA DONE for the lowest rung in society apart from propaganda and lies? Honestly, you need to review your thought patterns. Needless for me to state that no other killed more people that your PNDC and what was the benefit for the poor people in society.

That is the basic problem that we have in Ghana. The constitution gives the president too much powers, that is why the PPP has always and continues to ask for a proper review and amendment of the constitution.
MP's stay in parliament to legislate and be able to call the presidents attention to any unconstitutional act by him or his executive.
The attorney generals office is separated from the minister of justice's office.
MMDCE's to be voted by the people of the MMDA's.
This is a sure way to begin a proper decentralised government, and people with proven track records be appointed to cabinet and other positions of national interest irrespective of political affiliation. This must be purely on merit and approved by a parliament that is independent, not a parliament of mp's waiting to be appointed to ministerial and other positions.
Ghana needs some proper checks and balances in our governance and these four amendment's will go a long way to bring some sanity into our way of doing things. And to make this really work we need a PRESIDENT who will lead by example and with a sense of urgency, a peoples manager, someone who can motivate and inspire others to greater limits, someone who is respected by his peers.
We have all these qualities in the PPP, young and vibrant, and eager to serve. The PPP will bring meaning a "government by the people for the people"

Kwawu much as I assign to your point of honesty, hardwork, proper management and others, Foreign Currency Account in Ghana should not be sanctioned at all. No where in the world will you be allowed to open any different currency account in the country you domicle be you a diplomat or a rocket scientist person managing a multi-billion scientific research account.
I will suggest that the BoG takes a drastic measures to close all foreign accounts belonging to individuals who do not bring in foreign currency into the country. The said account should be closed and credited into Sundry Persons account in the Impersonal Ledger. Then after, beneficiaries may go and cash their money in local currency or open a Savings/Checking Account with it.
Individuals or Companies doing Import and Export business could be exempted from such account closures but should always apply through their bankers for Letters of Credit when making imports more than $10,000.00.
I will bet on my last dollar that, people who will be pinched in this exercise is past and present Government officials, Mahama and Terkper inclusive, past and present Parliamentarians, Judges, Corporate Executives and officers. It is a right direction to ease the pressure on the dollar and the pound sterling in BoG's vault and moreover, Anita Desooso's illusion of dwarfs and magicians concept will die for ever. E&OE.

Should in case Kwaku Kwarteng just got hatched or dropped from the sky, he should first learn there is nothing in Ghana that is free from political shenanigans/interference. The people with huspa at BoG are political appointees who get their bread buttered by slaving for the government in power. Dr. Bawumia did not get to BoG because of his smarts far from it. Others did too and jump when asked to jump.
Kwaku Kwarteng needs to get off the silliness that incites critics to make statements when not warranted and or without substance or merit. Ghana has been underperforming for over 30 years for those who refuse to realize and accept the truth that stares us in the face. Ghana was at the same state as India, South Korea, Indonesia and other some 30 years ago. Those countries move up to emerging market status and Ghana stayed the same while all our mineral and natural resources got depleted as governments sold them on the cheap and or mismanaged the proceeds.
Any NPP, NDC, NDP and all the political party spokespersons with running mouths who fail to realize that we are where we are because we have collectively allowed tribal loyalty to gain complete hold of our thinking faculties is not worth their brain in a hill of beans. How many of our political elite, educated elite and those with threads of political connections in Ghana can stand and testify to paying their share of taxes and or never benefitted from preferential treatment in some transactions in Ghana along the way? Pretending that Ghana is bad now because of the current president is to show that most of the critics never had the necessary brains and or have never been principled to tell the truth. How many nations did forgive our national outstanding debt during Kufour's 8 years in office? How many programs did the parliament initiate without providing continued and sustainable funding sources? When governments start programs that becomes free for most people in Ghana people get used to those free things. When the funding stops and or when revenues fail to be enough to support those unwarranted programs people used to those freebies complain. Ghana's rich people are corrupt to the bone. From Paa Kwesi Ndoum who claim to have made his million in the US who would take a job in the Kufour government and enjoy all the freebies poor working Ghanaians are not entitled to have through Kennedy Agyapong’s uncontested contract under the Kufour era to the son of the late president Atta Mills who still derive his living off government I say stop enjoying the gravy train and contribute to Ghana through your hard work, blood, sweat and tears. Enough with all the nonsense already.
BoG does not print money wily niley as some think; the value of our cedi is supported by our productivity and output measured as a measure of GDP. How many of these people in Ghana's elite table contribute to the GDP? They are nothing more than an unbearable strain of Ghana’s economy

The South African Rand, the Turkish Lira and the Indian Rupee have all taken a hit. Investors confidence in all these emerging markets is at all time low.
We should not politize the work the Bank of Ghana is trying to do. What we as Ghanaians can do is to export more and import less to avoid creating an unnecessary deficit.
Or Ghana and South Africa can threaten to nationalize our gold productions, and Cote d'Ivoire, Brazil and Ghana would threaten to nationalize cocoa productions.

We'll like to bring PEACE FM'S attention to the situation that is going on in their sister Radio station at GhanaToday HOLLAND. It has been cleared to the listeners of Ghana Today radio , how the presenter Kofi nyarko was rude to the sympathizers of the ruling NDC Gov, on his "wosukabi" program. Kofi nyarko did not end his rudeness, but Kofi organized members from his npp party, especially those who were akan's, they were carefully selected to come on air to dehumanized the rest of the tribes here in Ghana on his radio show. We the listeners here in Ghana can confirm to the PEACE FM management that the home grown npp terrorist who is now residing in Holland kofi nyarko, has done the same thing he was used to on Monday the 10th of February, when one of his regular caller named Joe Canada ,the sympathizer of the ruling NDC Gov. We heard this gentleman who called the program to refute to the comments one of the caller who is also a sympathizer of the opposition party the npp. The npp man called the program and run insults and accused the people from the Volta Region for the hardships the country is currently facing, he said according to him, he didn't understand why the Ewe's should elect somebody like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa as their MP , he asked? He went on by saying the Ewe's gives their Votes to anything in front of them, even animals. This uncalled-for words goes down well for the host Kofi nyarko which he congratulated the frustrated npp caller. When the sympathizer to the ruling NDC Gov, Joe Canada, also call the program to refute the unfortunate comments from the npp caller, kofi nyarko who can't hide his affection support for the opposition p npp party ,quickly jumped to defend the npp caller. Kofi nyarko gave his strong warning to the NDC caller not to dare call his radio programs to contribute again, he went on to said , he won't even pick up his call anytime he sees he Joe Canada's number on his phone. These ugly situations compelled some of us to send a strong warning to PEACE FM management, to urgently arrest this situation before its get out of hands. We believed kofi nyarko is trying hard to sow a tribal seeds between us here in GHANA and abroad. The management of PEACE FM must know that kofi nyarko who was placed on npp pay roll to tarnish the ruling NDC Gov, and his division tactics by playing a tribal cards is dangerous to our society and our young democracy here in GHANA We are looking forward to see the management of PEACE FM to call un-erected host kofi nyarko to immediate order before we hit the street of Accra.

You don't allow people to get used to bad and illegal habits before you try to stop it. This encourages black marketing and all sorts of evil. This is all the fault of BoG and the other banking institutions and businesses. I have heard from some business quarters that taking in $ helps them hedge against the unstable cedi. This initiative should have been taken long ago by the BoG not the government. If officials of BoG are insinuating that they were not aware of the widespread use of the $ to transact business in Ghana then they should all pack and go home. They have been very irresponsible and failed Ghana big time. They allowed the situation to run amok until the government stepped in. All the BoG needed was to put forth the ruling and then ask the govt to assist with enforcement.
