the govt needs to implement measures that ensure the wealth of the nation remains with the people of the nation and for example introduce measures the discourage the gold mines frome continually siphoning out the money instead of investing in the economy , encourage the establishment of processing plants and factories instead of all these foolish procurement contracts , facilitate the easier return of our diaspora but ensuring a fair judiciary and institutions of state that function instead of all these corrupt sheriffs that only think of themselves . it doesnt matter which party is in power as long as they focus on the unity of the people and avoid anything or action that creates second class citizens . i say nationalise the gold concessions now or there will be a bloody revolution before the year is over and the country will fall apart . bring people who are fair a, competent and have integrity instead of these greedy barstards who lie so much that they themselves dont know what the truth is . stop the tribalism and introduce a system whereby merit and hard work are rewarded instead of all the propaganda mudslinging lies you serve us everyday , in short start to care so the people can show you love

I was quiet entertained by Kay's contribution as to what to do to shore up the Cedi.At least it's better than Nduom's input which referred us to a quote in Saint Luke in the Bible.
Our basic problem is respectability of our currency.And the way to achieve that goal is simply to produce what we consume more than what we are unable to produce.By doing so we'll earn and save more of our money instead of expending most of it on importations.
It's as simple as that and we don't need quotations in the bible for the resolution of our economic problems.
I wish those who claim to aspire for high offices in our country would stop trivializing the word of God they way they have been doing it currently in our political discourse.
Kudos to my friend and fellow countryman,Kay.I bet he has no Phd in economics but good old common sense which appears to be extremely lacking with those who claim to be LEARNED IN GHANA.

I can only imagine what the economy would have been had the nation been led in its economic strides by people with rich and practical know-hows in business and national economy such as Nduom and Bawumia. But politics this side of the world keeps them away from coming on board to help steer the nation out of the economic doldrums.

Maybe, just maybe we need to revisit the Constitution to make provision for sons and daughters of the land who are endowed with copious and brainy know-how and who may not belong to a siting government's party to mandatorily and passionately wanting to come on board to salvage the economy in times like this!

Yet,he has forgotten the number of civil servants,some almost doing nothing,he has to be paying.
Though,the OIL ID FLOWING,we have not been able to balance our budget,but has to seek help/funding FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES.And even that,we cannot balance it.
MAHAMA IS A HOPELESS LEADER OF A HOPELESS GOVERNMENT:
NDC.
He has not been able to do anything to curb BRIBERY & CORRUPTION,because his own party is reigning,wallowing,meddling BIG TIME,IN IT.
BUT WITHOUT CURBING IT,WE GO NOWHERE.
Education,health,,genda & children,social welfare,mining & energy,finance ministries etc,all have failed Ghana.

Injecting us$20 million is not even 1% the country needs to recover.
Ghana dont have money until we borrow,we will continue been what we are now if we dont borrow $1 billion and start again.

I ask this question; where is the doled out to Ghana when we went HIPC? When everyone wants to be rich overnight by trading in dollars when in fact Ghana does not produce dollars, have we forgotten this simple economic principle that when demand exceed supply prices go up? Go to the market, the hotels, payment of school fees and that they demand is dollars not our currency the cedi. Importation of useless goods which do not benefit the nation economically and thereby placing much burden on the scarce foreign exchange are some of the problems we as normal human beings have overlooked, and instead blaming the government over the mess. How can churches instruct their members to pay their tithes and , offertory in dollars? Does God enjoy seeing these as a good sign of reverence because we are giving him dollars instead of cedis? It is a shame on the sovereignty of our nation. Now acknowledging our stupidity we turn around to blame the government. We must blame ourselves.

We have to convert to using our currency the dollar at the AIRPORTS. We buy cocacola at the airport with dollar. Ghanaian are pomposs and huuhuu people. They are poor but wear rich kente cloth. We need to abolish and take away all dollar tags inour shops and then trade with our own local money period.
