Under the watch of MAHAMA and his Economic Management Team, the Ghanaian economy has fallen apart - high inflation - prices of utilities - water, electricity supplies (though erratic) are very expensive, petrol prices are increased almost every month, the Cedi is fast depreciating against all currencies.
The government budget assumptions are bogus, useless and not working. For instance GHc/USD exchange rate of Cedi2.20 was the budgets assumption but due to poor management of the economy the rate has shot up to 2.50 which has undermined their own poor budget assumptions.
This shows the poor quality and cluelessness of MAHAMA himself and his Economic team in handling the economy. If this is not failure, then what else?

How can the president defend the capability of a Finance Minister under whose watch the Cedi plummeted at a whooping rate of 17% last and only a month into the new depreciated a further 3%? The records are indeed not in the Minister's favour. He has a lot of questions to answer. In some countries ,even half percentage fall in the value of the currency is a huge cause for alarm for the managers of the economy. Mr. President, simply endorsing the ability (inability in this case) of your Finance Team is woefully NOT enough!!

Just as you are controlling the dollar already circulating in Ghana demand, you have created fear among the suppliers especially Ghanaians and foreigners who are thinking of investing their hard earned dollars in the country for profit and provide jobs. You are scaring such private investors away. In addition you are crippling local demand in an economy that is dollar demand driven. So the products in the economy will not be there, supply will dwindle and the people will rise against u. Wait and see the ramifications of what your trusted economic team has done to you. Our leaders have been given the mandate to act for our common good but nay, they are rather confused on the job. Our useless university graduates, in authority, mostly from Legon, have been conjuring heaven and earth as the only antidote to arrest the fall of the cedi but the more they strain their spleen the more the good for nothing cedi keeps falling. Look, the solution to this problem is as simple as ABCD and I will give only one scenario out a thousand. A British university, Coventry University, is in Ghana offering MSc degree for HND graduates at a cost of 5000 British Pounds using Ghanaian lecturers and Ghana Government buildings. They have centers in Koforidua, Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi and their classrooms are always filled to capacity. This same programme can be offered by our local universities at a fifth of that amount in the local currency but empty pride will not allow them to do so. So now you can see who is causing the devaluation of our cedi. This is one out of a thousand. Have you also considered the ACCA-ICA gap. More to come later..

Gov't should take the right decisions to get our economy moving in the right direction.

This would include reducing the budget deficit to manageable levels, lowering inflation to single digit, and halting the run on the cedi. Unemployment should be tackled by fostering the right environment for job creation. We must set up our own companies to exploit our abundant natural resources. We must insist that foreign companies operating in our country employ Ghanaians, and train our people to acquire relevant skills. We must support the unemployed to set up their own businesses. The banking sector should help with this by helping entrepreneurs prepare business plans, and providing start-up capital.
