If someone claims the Ashantihene is dead and that turns out to be false, so be it! What's the big deal about this?
The most important question everyone should be asking is, " Why didn't he go to Okomfo Anokye hospital for treatment ---but South Africa"? If I were the king, "I would put my peoples' interest first"--by making sure the hospitals in my kingdom are up to modern standard so every soul including myself gets the necessary medical care he or she needs! Is the Ashanthene's mentality of traveling outside the country for medical care not an affront to his kingdom? Why can't we just see this? The statement he is trying to make by him seeking medical care overseas, is that, " You're on your own, if you can't afford the expenses of going elsewhere for treatment, stay there and die---Okomfo Anokye is the gateway to the graveyard!!!"
Trust me, our leaders have disappointed us! There's the need for a revolt! The leadership of the politicians and our traditional heads are in abyss!! Because they have access to the national coffers, they easily loot the money and seek medical treatment elsewhere and tell the toiling and deprived folks to sit tight!
To name but a few, Akufo Addo did the same, Rawlings and his wife did the same, So was John Atta Mills! And now Kwaku Duah! And note this, if even Kwaku Duah was broke, Mahama would have loaned him the presidential jet!

He introduced one party rule in Ghana and made himself life president. He was neither caring, compassionate, visionary, smart nor politically savvy. Most of the things he took credit for had been started by the British, our colonial masters. For instance Tema Motorway was on the drawing board when he took over and Akosombo Dam was not his brainchild. KNUST was established by Asantehene and the British. Surprisingly, most of the things he takes credit for were never initiated by him

Independence, for instance, was sought for by many and achieved under the aegis and cunningness of Kofi Nwiah, trickster and schemer extraordinaire. Well, all along I have been asking how and under what circumstances "Francis Kofi Nwiah" was able to change his name to "Kwame Nkrumah". I know that it is permissible for anybody to change his name anytime he or she wishes but it is strange and beyond comprehension for one to change his birthday from Friday to Saturday ie from Kofi to Kwame. This is what makes me suspicious of Kofi Nwiah or Kwame Nkrumah. He claimed that his date of birth was 21st September 1909. This day according to the 20th century Calendar was a Tuesday!!! So was Nkrumah born on a Tuesday, a Friday or a Saturday? We must find out what he was up to with all these very strange findings. He was indeed cunning and only preyed on the emotions of the Ghanaian masses. It was my wish that the president would set up a committee to investigate before declaring Nkrumah's "unknown" birthday a holiday.

When he took over we had trade surplus running into millions of Pound Sterling but when he was forced out we had a trade deficit of several million pounds sterling!! This was the result of bad governance. He should have been overthrown earlier than 1966. We all saw good governance under K4. To me K4 is the best president Ghana has ever had. Kuffour is the greatest. We thank Kotoka and Afrifa for stoping the dictator in his tracks. Ayekoo Kotoka and Afrifa. The Kotoka Air Port should never be renamed

Nkrumah was a criminal any proper CCPian, who is not a hypocrite will admit this. Afterall,it were people from within the party, who overthrew Nkrumah. When Nkrumah took all the key positions, leading members of the CPP were annoyed. So they teamed up with some of the UGCC to overthrow Nkrumah. Actually,most of my family members were born or influenced into the CPP (at least the older generation), but when something is wrong, I will not say its right.Finally, the death of the imprisoned Nana Kwame Kyeretwie (Dr. J.B. Danquah) almost turned the whole country against Nkrumah.

During the colonial days, Krobo Edusei (a very influential member and interior minister during the CPP administration) rented a room at one of our family houses in Kumasi. He was able to influence most of our family members into the CPP.

My late father, a trained engineer and member of the Institute of Engineers and Technicians in London, became the first secretary of Krobo Edusei (Propaganda secretary), he personally campaigned for him in "Sekyere-East". Once, even the colonial police searched our house to arrest Krobo Edusei. During these days, Nkrumah and other founding members of the CPP almost met daily at our family house. Their goal was to obtain more voting power in Asante region and western Asante region (present day Bono Ahafo region). So they approached our family, one of the most influential royal families in Asante.

Nkrumah and his people became millionaires over night. Krobo Edusei was a poor drug seller, before his party came to power. The CPP was not all that strong in the country as a whole. The government had little authority, in particular in Asante. Nkrumah was a coward, who always used others to achieve his goals as soon as they were of no more use, he turned against them.

By the end of the second World War, Ghana was more advanced economically and socially than most other African countries. By 1945 Ghana had the best road system, a railway and a deep water harbour and had one of the hightest per capita incomes of all the countries on the continent. Ghana then had a sizable educated elite and a rising middle class of teachers, contractors and private businessmen. By the end of 1964 Ghana was completely bankrupt. The national foreign debt grew from 64 million dollars in 1957 to 524 million in 1959 and to 770 million in 1964. Moreover, while Nkrumah urged the ordinary people to tighten their belts, he and his ministers led a life of luxury, rode in huge cars and erected buildings in the main towns from funds received from corrupt deals and bribes.By the time of the coup his wealth had increased to a total of £2,322,000, whereas his lawful earnings from 1951 to 1966 amounted to only £134,000.While he continued to place funds in foreign banks from 1962, he made the holding of foreign accounts abroad illegal.He vigorously opposed all the regional groupings, saying they would be "just another form of balkanisation".He constantly quarreled with other African heads of state, the vast majority of who opposed his dream of his "United states of Africa" and feared Nkrumahs desire to become president of Africa.

He introduced the Preventive Dentention Act, which enabled him to arrest any person without a trial (any person that was suspected of opposing his government). He turned the whole country into one concentration camp of fear, insecurity and uncertainty. He even dismissed the Chief justice and other judges, who did not rule in his favour. He turned Ghana into a one party state and made himself president for life. He seized and occupied all the key positions within his party, therefore his own people teamed up with some members of UGCC to overthrow him (not the NPP with cooperation of the CIA, as the propaganda of nowadays wants us to believe).

Nkruamhs megalmonia and power-drunkness were the main cause for his downfall. He showered upon himself ridiculous titles such as "Showboy", "His essianic Dedication", "Osagyefo","Fount of Honour", etc. His megalmonia made him see himself as the man destined by God to become the first president of a united Africa. It also drove him to excessive use of the Preventive Detention Act and the use of spies on his own people.When the railway workers went on strike in 1961, Nkrumah ordered strike leaders and opposition politicians arrested under the Trade Union Act of 1958.While Nkrumah had organized strikes just a few years before, he now opposed industrial democracy because it conflicted with rapid industrial development.

The death in the confined cell of the higly respected Dr. Danquah in February 1965 turned more Ghanaians against Nkrumah than any other single episode.All classes of Ghanas population turned against Nkrumah.It was J.B. Danquah, who actually gave Ghana its name, presumbly personal research had done into finding out about the link between ancient Ghana Kingdom and the Akan. Unfortunately he fell out with Nkrumah and ended up dying in prison. This man should be one of the great names mentioned among Africans. In my opionion, Danquah made a great attempt to enlighten his fellow Ghanaians. His book "the Akan doctrine of God" was the first book dealing with ancient Akan history. He also wrote some other books in the Akan language to help children and young adults identify with and learn to read their own language.

It also must be noted, that it were mainly wealthy families from Asante, who enabled Nkrumah to finance his nationwide boykotts.

If Nkrumah was still alive, he would behave like Gaddafi and their likes. In fact, Robert Mugabe (married to a Ghanaian) and many others were all trained by Nkrumah in Ghana. They received huge financial and even millitary support.

If people really believe Nkrumah was such a hero, then they should name the entire country after him. Why are you using the name "Ghana", a name that was based on the historical research of the late Dr. J.B. Danquah?

They entered politics when they did not even have a place to sleep and then became millionaires within a short period of time. So you compare Nana Boahen (Houphet Boigny), who was the Supreme ruler of the Asante-Adako Baoule in Ivory Coast and a true Asante-Nsuta royal to Nkrumah? Didnt the CPP as late as 2012 not petition the government to return Nkrumahs confiscated properties?

21 century and you still believe in the biblical scriptures dating back hundreds of years?

Why do people always mention Antoa-Nyama as if it was the only Obosom.

Western civilization and christianity is built on the legacy of our ancestors. Christian Churches and other western instiutions are full of Akan symbols. The word Amen itself existed in Akan anthems hundred of years before the first Europeans set foot on our soil.

How dare you to describe any other religion than Christianity as demonic? Is Buddhism demonic? Is Daoism demonic? Is Hindusim demonic? Is Judaism demonic? Is Islam demonic? If not, why are you considering African religions or ancient indigenous beliefs in general as demonic? I wonder when Christians will stop claiming hegemony over all other religions. The bible is full with Akan names, history of the Akan people and their traditions.

The Supreme Being of the Akan people appears in the triad of Nyame-Nyankopon-Odumankoma. Nyame is the female aspect of the Supreme Being or Creator, symbolized by the Ohemaa of the state. Nana Asaase Yaa is the mother of the earth. The Abosom were created by the supreme being and work for him. We Akans believe the God Almighty the supreme being is too unique to be worshipped directly, therefore we worship him through Abosom (his children) and the spirits of our ancestors, who are closer to both the spiritual and material world. Just like you cannot talk to a Akan King directly, but through his linguist, the same way we do not talk directly to God. Just like Christians worship Jehovah through Jesus Christ. If someone pours libation without mentioning the Supreme being and Nana Asaase Yaa, then he is not a proper traditional priest. Abosom/Obosom refers to all natural spirits i.e. rivers, mountains, forests etc. which were all created by God. We are not idol worshippers, because there is no image of Nyame and Nana Yaa Asaase, just like there is no image of the Christian God Jehovah, just like there is no image of the muslim God Allah, just like there is no image of the Jewish God Jahwe (Nyame). Idolwhorship just like pagean is just a derogatory term to discredit all religions which are not in line with western christianity.

Degenerating African religions saying its backward and babaric is far from the truth. Its very sophisticated, if you take the time to analyze it.Trying to push away African spirituality without making an effort to understand it, will surely lead you astray.There are different religons in the world with different ways how to get close to God and our creator force. One cannot say one faith system is better or even superior to another.We all have a right to practise and follow what we believe in and what appeals to us. The Akans came to the present day area of Ghana, because they refused to accept Islam and did not want to engage in constant warefare with those who were trying to impose it upon them. They didnt come to Ghana to be forced into Christianity. If one wants to follow a foreign religion, let him/her do so. But they should not condem indigenous religious beliefs out of ignorance.

If one really has a problem with his/her own culture, then he must stop practising it! That person must stop in performing Akan naming ceremonies, stop conducting funerals in the Akan fashion, stop pouring libation, stop engaging in Akan festivals such as Akwasidae, stop the practise of customary marriages, even stop bearing an Akan soul/day names, since they have a spiritual connection to the cosmology of the Akan people. They must also avoid praising Nyame/Nyankopon since this is how the Akans referred to their creator.They must stop practising all aspects of their culture.One cannot say I embrace my culture, but I reject the spiritual aspect of it. This is not possible, one does not exist without the other.

The Christians use this word for the central moment of the Mass when the priest says the words of Jesus Christ at the Last Supper over the bread and wine in front of an altar. Christianity its by his history one of the cruelest religions.How many people have died in the name of Christ, Christianity and Catholicism? Thousands and millions were killed, who refused to accept Christianity and their holy places being destroyed.Entire cities had been wiped out in the name of Christianity. Not to mention the numerous religious wars i.e. Catholic extermination camps,Catholic terror in Vietnam,Rwanda Massacres (where the catholic church had been actively involved) of course it does not end there, it goes on with the killings of Indians in South America etc.
