I cannot believe this!!! For months I have been saying to myself that I simply can't wait for Armed Robbers to form an association and claim their right to rob. This devious brainchild of mine was borne on the basic principle that the assiduous lawlessness in Accra has become so pervasive, even the law enforcers aid and abet. The other day I took a picture of an AMA official in AMA uniform patronizing a street hawker, another picture of a police officer in a police truck doing same. Street Hawking is illegal. I have seen police officers usher illegal taxi and tro-tro driving activities by them, and I have stopped to ask them why they allowed the culprits to go without admonishing them. They appear dumbfounded, and never have a good answer.

I asked you people to shut up because you are all selective in your judgement of law and order in Accra.

If you don't think that Street Hawking is as illegal as Armed Robbery, then you don't have a case against the state.

If you don't think that the proliferation of the following in Accra is a crime and a detriment to Accranian society then you need to shut up because you are disingenuous and a hypocrite;

1. Abolish Tro-Tro's in Accra Central. They too have formed an association with sympathy from people like you.

2. Cut down the size of all taxi's in Acra by at least half it's current size, with strick regulation and uniformed drivers. They too have formed an illegal association with sympathy from people like you.

3. Cut down the number of Twi-speaking FM radio stations and TV programs to a minimum and replace with the native language of the people of Greater Accra. But oh no, the Twi-speaking stations too have an association, and will claim free market conveniently, unless they become victimized, it will become equal representation for all.

4. Side-walk encroachers believe that they have every right to set up shop on pavements and make profit, but never pay taxes. They too probably have an association and sympathizers like you.

5. You name it, any illegal, ignorant act you can drum up in this world, you bet it will become fashionable in Accra, Ghana.

It was for all the reasons above, that I had dreamt of an ARMED ROBBERS ASSOCIATION surfacing in Ghana, and it actually happened. Truth is they have come to realize that in Ghana, you have a right to break the law with impunity and get away with it, because the law enforcers are busy breaking the law somewhere else they feel bad having to judge another unlawful act.

What's even more mysterious is the distinct lack of decisive action by the police to arrest and prosecute the so called suppliers of the the guns used. Why on earth is Ghana full of guns? How did this happen.I just can't get my head round it. it's shameful and very serious.I always think of coming to Ghana but,it doesn't appeal to me anymore. My friends got robbed as they got picked up from the airport on their visit and got slashed with a cutlass.What the fuck is the government and authorities doing about this gun situation? Ghana need an authoritative government.We think we are ready for democracy, but honestly, we are not.Leaders even speak without making sense and house of parliament consists mostly of illiterates. How can debates be carried out and meaningful decisions taken by bunch of illiterates. Wow.
