Our President is on holiday he cannot see anything wrong in the country. He does not know anything just to be in office and be called President. What do we pay him for? He is a waste.

AKONFEM Mahama promised that 2014 will yield the good fruits of the seeds his Government sowed in 2013. Could the fuel shortage be part of the "good fruits"? Already we have had utility and fuel price increases. Meanwhile, if what we hear is correct, he has harvested his own fruits by buying a US$40 million hotel in Dubai.

i am still wondering why still ghana cannot refine the petroleum products that are been mined in the country. This tells how corrupt the NDC government is.Ghanaians need more accountability than this .

Whether corrupt, or not, they manage to tell enough lies to deceive Ghanaians, because we prefer sweet lies to bitter truth.
Sad, isn't it?

VERY TRUE STORY ABOUT THE UAE, 14TH MOST HAPPIEST NATION IN THE WORLD.
ASAMOAH GYAN "BABY JET" WILL LIVE TO TELL THE HAPPY TALE ABOUT HIS WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE IN THE UAE.
READERS SHOULD REMEMBER THAT THE UAE WAS A DESERT WASTELAND JUST ABOUT SOME 20 YEARS AGO.
By: Yasmine Hamdy
Emirates News Agency WAM reported on Sunday that the UAE is the happiest Arab country in the World and the 14th globally in the second United Nations World Happiness Report, quoting HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai on this occasion as saying:

Dubai in top three ‘most improved’ cities
"Achieving happiness, welfare and dignified living for nationals and their families is the preoccupation of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This ranking would not have been possible without the efforts of sincere men, excellent teamwork and full coordination and integration between all local and federal government sectors.
"Our goal is to achieve the happiness of our people, and their satisfaction is the gauge of our success. All development plans that we approved, all initiatives that we launched and all the government policies and laws, have one common goal: achieving the happiness of our people. What we have already achieved is only the first stage, which will be followed by more work and achievements in order to become one of the world's best countries, God willing.
"Countries can only be built with happy and satisfied people. Happiness of individuals is only the start for a stable, productive and safe society. That is why relevant international organisations started to review the real yardstick for the success of governments and to increasingly focus on measuring the satisfaction and happiness of people as the main way towards sustainable development,"
HH highlighted the importance of embracing this criterion by all government officials, saying, "We gave directives to all government teams, during the recent Government Summit, that they should make their decisions and policies based on one goal, which is making society happy. No doubt happiness and satisfaction is something psychological for individuals, but the government's mission is to provide dignified living and welfare for its citizens, to make life easy for them as well as to create opportunities for them to achieve happiness for themselves and for their families. All this requires, among other things, joint efforts and policies and laws that are suitable for society, achieving security, justice and safety, taking care of underprivileged groups and the continuous development of infrastructure. This cannot be achieved without having clear-cut plans and excellent teams and taking the best advantage of the resources that are available to us.
HH Sheikh Mohammed finalized his great words adding:"We will continue forward to serve our country, achieve happiness for our sons and to invest all that we have to prepare people to make them able, strong, and skilled enough to achieve success. I say to all our people: be hopeful because we all overcame a lot of challenges in the past, and because our present is full of achievements, and our future is promising and is based on the highest ambitions" His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid concluded.

MY TAKE:
COMPARE THE UAE'S TRANSFORMATIVE HARDWORKING LEADERSHIP TO GHANA'S LAZY VISIONLESS FREELOADING CORRUPT LEADERSHIP, AND YOU'LL REALISE HOW USELESSLY HOPELESS WICKED AND CORRUPT GHANA'S SUCCESSIVE "LEADERS" ARE.
AS FOR GHANA'S 275 LAZY DUMB CORRUPT MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT AND THE GARGANTUAN NUMBER OF FREELOADING WICKED SUCCESSIVE PRESIDENTS AND PRESIDENTIAL STAFFERS, THE LITTLE SAID ABOUT THEM, THE BETTER.
I NOW REST MY CASE, BUT READ THE ABOVE ABOUT THE UAE AND ASK YOURSELVES THIS QUESTION:
ARE THE UAE LEADERS NOT AS HUMAN AND HUMANE AS THEIR GHANAIAN COUNTERPARTS?
NO WONDER MAHAMA AND HIS DUMB GHANAIAN ENTOURAGE WERE WELCOME THERE LIKE FOOLS BEGGING TO BE TAUGHT ON WAYS TO DEVELOP THEIR ECONOMIES FOR THE GOOD OF ALL GHANAIANS, INCLUDING THEMSELVES (GHANA'S DUMB CORRUPT VISIONLESS "LEADERS".
WE SHALL ALL CONTINUE TO SWIM IN THE SHIT LEFT OVER BY GHANA'S LAZY CORRUPT CLUELESS LEADERS EXCEPT NKRUMAH, OF COURSE!!!

Very interesting to read. You asked whether the UAE leaders are not as human and humane as their Ghanaian counterparts. Yes our leaders are human just as their UAE counterparts but are not humane. While the main preoccupation of the UAE leaders is to satisfy the citizenry and make them happy, the opposite is our case. Here, it is all about themselves, their family and party. Unless our leaders realize that they were voted into power to serve the people, we shall forever remain in the doldrums. Thanks a lot for bringing this very educative and thought provoking piece. I hope our leaders would read and learn why they are in office.

Look, I asked my people in Madina and East Legon if they know their MP and DCE or Mayor, and they can’t even know who he is and where he lives and we are simply wasting our lives with these phony elections mimicking the British or Americans. Let me ask you a question, Ted. In your village would you guys vote to spend $10 million to buy bio-metric Registration system, when “Tikya” (Teacher) Mante could set up a blackboard system that works for the purpose? I am being facetious a little but honestly Ted, if your village asked you to design a system to list all registered voters in a Database, set up a system so that when they entered the booth they will be recorded and tagged and allowed to vote, would you all in the village agree to pay $500 each for a white man’s Bio-Metric system? Well, $500 is too high. $150 million divided by say 10 million voters comes to only $15, but that is Ghc30, somebody’s whole days pay, or equivalent to perhaps $200 in the US. Would you give $200 to you town council for election every 4 years? You would complain, right?
All I saying is for us to start thinking for ourselves. Somebody called VRA is selling electricity and distributing them. The ECG is very inefficient. They are useless and they keep giving excuses about supply when in fact delivery is an issue as to equipment such as Transformers. If Abetifi area were to have a district of 200,000 people and we need equipment of say $20 million and then buy electricity at $0.35 and sell at $0.50 per KWH, we can manipulate the numbers to make some company who invested get a regulated profit as done in the USA, and supply efficient services that have conditions for license renewal as one here in the US. If we want government to do everything, let us remember that kwame Nkrumah koraaaa, he died! We need to move on from this Socialism that did not work! Ghana is a Socialist platform that helps some people collect money and not account for it under so-called government SOE or Agency, the Bridge tolls as example,, and pocket the money.
What I see is a very lazy group of Legon and KNUST graduates, who have taken over the government of Ghana and not used to deep thinking as Kwame Nkrumah did long before he even got into the government. 99% of them don’t even communicate through emails. Does J.A. Kufuor or Mahama or Mills (may he RIP) or Rawlings have any philosophy you can point at that will last the centuries? These people all refuse to sit and think deeply for our nation and be proactive in solving our socio-economic and human development problems. If they did would you be having open gutters now? Would 100,000 people be dying every year from malaria? Would we be rationing water and electricity now?
Would we be spending 2 hours in traffic to cross 20 miles of city every day? Most of these leaders and their executive do not even have a TOD-DO LIST by which they remind themselves of the promises they have made. Watch President Mahama and tell me if he does. It’s been going on 4 years since I did a one-man demonstration at the Legon ECG office that luckily came in the news in Ghana and he made some utterances,, and simply forgot about them! Perhaps thinking God would perhaps provide? Perhaps? "
