NPP should present an alternative and not say they will match NDC boot for boot. If that is what Ghanaians are looking for then they better retain NDC in power. It is claimed that Sir John was elected to match General Mosquito. No doubt, he could not defeat him. He could not even match him because he was worst than the Mosquito. To win, one must beat the opponent, in other words, be better than the opponent.

When you guys(ECOMOG) were asked to go and keep peace in small Liberia, what did we see? You, including Gen Arnold Quainoo took cover when a group of rebels(Johnson's boys) went in and killed Master Sgt Doe, then deposed, Head of state of Liberia.

"Apuu"!Apart from coup d'etats, Ghanaian soldiers have not seen what we really call war..So don't sit there and make mouth mouth as if you have ever seen any serious war.

The General Secretary must present new ideas and far sighted vision and not be bogged down with a fight to show who is the ugliest and baddest johnny in town. Only Kwabena Agyepong makes sense so far.

Having known Effah Darteh since our energetic school days as members of the Students Movement for Africa Unity (SMAU),followed him in his creditable military carrier, his days with the revolution which later proved to be a fake one as a patriot and in charge of aviation, his non compromising principles as articulate and thoughtful professional layer and an Ambassador, I have no doubt what-so-ever that, given the opportunity to serve the NPP as a General Secretary, he will bring all these experiences gained on board for absolute victory come 2016.

In fact he's the few that, the fake revolutionary leader, Rawlings himself respect and fear on point of honesty, personal integrity and nationalism.

Please, listen to him and give him the chance.

Seriously speaking, one of the weaknesses of the NPP as at now is the man we have as the party's general secretary, no good.

Effah Darteh is brilliant, a legal expert, thoughtful, humorous, versatile, understanding, approachable, trustworthy and a much far-far experienced and a pragmatic politician who believe in the ordinary and can deliver to organize more support for the party, especially from his native Brong-Ahafo areas, the North and the Upper West and East regions.

His election will also prove our critics wrong that, NPP is Ashante/Akyem dominated party.

Politics is not 'buga buga' otherwise ask JJ Rawlings and more so ask our past political leaders Gen Ankrah, Akufo and co who came from the military backgrounds. Ask Gen Erskine for his experience and you'll something valuable from him about politics. Effa Darteh must quickly change his attitude/mentality if he really wants to lead his party, let alone Ghana. Talk of this kind from Ghana's new breed of political leadership wanna-be must not be accepted. Parties, political, social or corporate, must provide clear and convincing path through vision statement (with data and numbers) where and how they intend to improve the lives of all Ghanaians and not talk cheaply about fool-hardy confrontations. The NDC and NPP party members are sad human beings of the lower form because they cannot see that we are where we are in this day and era because of what the two parties have done to Ghana for some 30+ years. Engaging in the blame game does not resolve that fact that for those years Ghanaians have seen the rearranging of chairs between the NPP and NDC and the result is not liked by either side but more so by the dumb and dumber voting public.
There are those who think the NPP had a winning idea or vision in the free school talk but it was nothing more than a fallacy and faulty vision. NPP must put a strategy and funding sources on paper to prove to voters how they intend to remodel every school building structure to meet modern day standards enjoyed by children of our political and educated elite class do at their respective Western civilized nations. This renovation ideal will help solve three campaign issues:
1. Provide equal and conducive learning environment to all school-going children in Ghana irrespective of community. Those facilities should provide the security, health and safety for student and staff that makes learning attractive and easy on pupils relative to current conditions at most of Ghana’s elementary schools.
2. These renovation projects, if structure fairly and equitably, should help create massive employment opportunities in every community in Ghana that will dent the ongoing unemployment numbers with the youth population.
3. It will eliminate some of the rationale given by graduating university/college students who have refused to take up their National service/teaching assignments in poor communities because of the environment they would face.
NPP need to show us all its much talk-about party of intellectuals and give us something to vote for instead of the much misunderstood caricature of a two region, tribal based party. Ghana wants winning teams with ideas and ideals.
