that is Africa's problem. It's the attitude of the african that is the problem to Africa. The african sees him/herself as entitled and above reproach. He/She goes to church and is therefore perfect. All the crimes and vices are not so because he or she is saved by the blood of 'jesus'. It is that attitude that enables the african to steal, under perform and destroy his/her own country and then pretend it's the devil or somebody else. If africans can only look in the mirror and claim responsibility for the misery they have visited on the continent, that will be a good start. The other thing they can do is to admit that they are ignorant about how systems work. It will go a long way to help solve their problems. Crisis management which is the existence of most africans is not suitable for long term planning.

Where does leadership come from and or what are the characteristics of a true leader? Leadership does not come from books neither will it ever come family/blood line; in Ghana we equate leadership and or intelligence with academic credentials earned or purchased. But leadership come from wisdom which in turn is derived from lessons learned, having foresight and requisite logical thought processes.
In Ghana everything is about tribe and nothing else. We have failed and continue to fail miserably not because of lack of leadership but because of folly. Why is it that the United States of America, the greatest nation on earth (in development, innovations and freedoms) is being schooled lately by the Chinese? Most of America’s businessmen and women chose money over loyalties and America’s interest. They shipped jobs over to China for cheap labor and China through its government agencies have stolen every trade secret and accompanying intellectual properties those businesses brought along. China officially continues to steal technology and trade secrets from Western developed nations.
In Ghana we neither learn from these mistakes of the current breed of leaders and businesses in the West nor do we see implications of selling everything Ghana to those who come knocking. Why is China supposed to be doing so great economically and yet they send their riffraff’s to Ghana to damage our flora and fauna under the guise of creating jobs? Is it not because of our leadership that is nothing more than competing tribal interests or tribal alliance trying to see who makes the most money at the end of the day? Where are the foresight and or the wisdom either the NPP and or NDC has shown in the last 30 years of reign in Ghana? Do we still not use every land as our toilet facilities? Do we have real roads that will facilitate efficient distribution and delivery of goods and service on time? Yet we have people in and out of politics who are proudly portrayed as millionaires in Ghana without working for the money. This get rich without real work is what Ghanaians aspire for and not wisdom and foresight; leadership my foot.

Our problem is trying to lead our Nations like the west does, may be due to lack of confidence and wisdom. After all civilization started with us and that was true leadership. We have abandoned the way of our fathers and trying to adopt the foreign style so we are caught up in the middle of 2 cultures. We must lead and live up to our own VALUES and stop looking up to what is good for the West to copy blindly. Square pegs do not fit in a round hole.

It is unacceptable for anyone to presume that African are born generally to be leadership deficit. Far from it. Rather, deficiency in quality leadership among African is socially and culturally asquired. Since the deficiency is not in-born it must be possible for society to wean individuals from scats of deficient leadership.
In that instance, only people who show signs of good and useful leadership qualities must be considered to hold leadership positions. Once appointed to positions of leadership, the non-performing individual must be kicked out summarily.

Charity begins at home baby with sharp teeth.A good leadership begins at home, schools and the church. Africans(public officials)take issues personal. It's about time for Ghanaian to vote out public officials who speak with foul mouths. Africans create enemies from women issues, jealousy, and will never let bygone be bygone. They gleam their teeth and when they finally unlock their fat lips, they regurgitate nuances spite.
This is my take on stupid jealousy issue. If one works hard to achieve his/her goals in life why envy these individuals?. People who work hard do have lavishly concentration on their plates. And the next man can do the same with no sweat. Many private business men have ran into road block while trying to navigate their business through the super information high ways by these jealous public officials. Others maintained this robustly antiquated and mean spirited minds. The old don,t want to move and leave room for the young ones. Majority of these idiosyncratic characters cling to the old and fierce cynicism they grew up with. Who cares if you taught me in primary, secondary or at the University. Every coach on earth wants his athlete to be a champion. The old teachers who are mostly politicians now still maintain this stupid pride.
The old simply go tantrums and rumpus and say thins like, look at these babies with sharp teeth. The young can't move a step without been reamed out by the so old people. Old people your Nkrumah days are gone and its now John Mahama time to play the game. If after 8 years, and Ghanaians don,t see or feel what he had done, they should never put other Mahama in there.
Personally, I don't know what Nana Akofu Addo is thinking about. You will not make it through the next campaign trails. The best recipe for you is to retire from Ghanaian politics. Let this your seething resolution about the presidency go into oblivion.
