to me, I think he made the biggest mistake by letting the oyibo man stay after they had their independence, cos the oyibo men still they run them. they own pretty much everything which is why in my personal view, he is not an icon as the world portrays him. the blackman is still nothing on their own land in SA. their prez is just a face, everything is being controlled by the British and I don't like Mandela for that. he made such a huge decision without consulting the people that supported him throughout the fight for "freedom" (which is the citizens). I don't see such a person as a true leader because true leaders always put the safety and the interest of their citizens first.

Nelson Mandella spent 27 years of his life in prison. he fought from and out of prison to free his people and the world from our conscience. He taught both blacks and whites how to live together in harmony, much like Dr Aggrey of Ghana used the black and white keys of a piano to symbolize the melody from harmonious living.
Afer all the suffering and his struggles, he did not seek to become the President of South Africa for life. He gave up on the Presidency and instead became a leader of the world for life and beyond.

“During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people, I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together and in harmony. It is an ideal I hope to live for , but if need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die"-- Nelson Mandela
However, he stands out among them as the greatest human being for having a heart of rock, yet so soft to be able to dine with his enemies in order to bring peace and prosperity to his people. This is the reason why I believe a lesson is yet to be learned by African leaders.
Madiba, we thank God for your life and may you rest in peace.

WELL, NELSON "MADIBA" MANDELA HAS LEFT AN ENDURING LEGACY UNPRECEDENTED IN THE ANALS OF MODERN POLITICS.
WELL, AS WE ALL KNOW, UNLIKE GHANA'S SUCCESSIVE "LEADERS", MANDELA WAS NEVER REPORTED TO BE CORRUPT IN SOUTH AFRICA.
MANDELA CERTAINLY NEVER PERPETRATED THE CULTURE OF CREATE LOOT AND SHARE SO PREVALENT AMONG GHANA'S SUCCESSIVE LEADERSHIP AFTER NKRUMAH'S, WHILE HIS FELLOW POOR SOUTH AFRICANS WALLOWED IN DEPRIVATION OF THE VERY BASICS OF LIFE.
THERE WAS NEVER A SINGLE REPORTED CASE AGAINST MANDELA OF EXPLOITATIVELY HIGH IMPORT DUTIES, EXTORTIONATE FUEL AND UTILITY TARIFFS, EXTORTIONATE TAXES AND THE CULTURE OF CREATE LOOT AND SHARE OF GHANA'S RESOURCES.
GHANA "LEADERS", LIKE MADIBA AND NKRUMAH, ARE YOU LEAVING ANY EXEMPLARY ENDURING LEGACY IN MEMORY OF YOU WHEN YOU PASS ON?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
EXEMPLARY LEGACY IS NOT IN GHANA "LEADERS'" VOCABULARY!
YOU'LL BE REMEMBERED ONLY BY YOUR RELATIVES AND CRONIES, PERIOD
