Ghanaians remember the regime which stripped people of their properties, destroyed families and killed in the name of corruption eradication. Today, they have been found out by EOCO and the Sole Commissioner to have deliberately connived to steal millions from the State. The Supreme Court has confirmed the stealing, labelling it as an alliance to create, loot and share.

Rather than deal decisively with such gargantuan and mind boggling impunity and corruption, the President chooses to join his communication foot-soldier chorus.

'Ghanaian murderer' escapes from prison in London after life sentence

A convicted murderer of Ghanaian descent who was jailed for life for stabbing a teenager to death has escaped from a mental health centre.

Lerone Michael Boye ran away from the John Howard Centre in Kenworthy Road, Homerton, east London, at about 2pm today

Boye, 27, was sentenced to life last December for the murder of Kelvin Chibueze and told he must serve a minimum of 28 years.

His 17-year-old victim was fatally stabbed at the Arteflex Club in Ilford High Road, east London, on August 15 2011.

He was chased out of a birthday party and attacked with glass and broken bottles.

Boye's three co-accused are also serving life sentences.

Boye is described as black, about 5ft 10in and of slim build with short black hair and a goatee beard.

He has a horseshoe-shaped scar on his right cheek.

He was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms and a grey or blue sweatshirt with a grey vest over the top.

He is known to have links to the Ilford area.

Members of the public have been warned not to approach him but call 999.

Anyone with any information about Boye's whereabouts can also call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, a mental health worker has appeared in court after he was accused of helping Lerone Boye escape from custody.

Dean Ablakwa, 29, from north London, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with conspiracy to assist an offender to escape from lawful custody, Scotland Yard said.

Follow the live text below: 10:45: Tsatsu took the oath Asked to narrate what he knew about SG debt, Until the end of his tenure there was neither a judgement nor debt against GNPC much less against govt of Ghana as at December 2000.

Important to underline period he was the CEO, GNPC was a corporate body that can sue and be sued, was sued as statutory body by SG in a case brought against them in London. GNPC contested the liability that was claimed in that suit, and contracted a legal firm, Bindman and Partners, and entered appearance on behalf of the corporation including a counter claim. This was done with the approval and knowledge of the board.

40 million dollars was the claim from SG, which arose from a series of transactions in 96/7. Took pain to study the claim, based on advice, an expert witness was hired on behalf of GNPC – counterclaim related to the fact that what the SG acted as advisors and acted negligently in their duty of care to the corporation, so we do not accept liability.

After SG brought the suit, GNPC called for further and better particulars. But the bank blanked out certain portions of the document they sent to them – GNPC regarded those portions as relevant, and counsel insisted the blank portion should be made known to them, but SG resisted that attempt. They also resisted a request by GNPC lawyers of tape recordings of various conversations in the course of transaction which SG had in their custody, according to normal practice. Lawyers then decided to apply to the courts for the tapes to be made available including disclosing those blanked out – process went back and forth for sometimes, but some discussions were initiated in response to a possible settlement.

The inital claim by SG was $40m but were prepared to settle for 20m but GNPC didn’t accept. - clear indication that SG was not holding on to the claim they initially made. In the course of the transactions certain payments were made to GNPC, Tsikata recalled. GNPC should be willing to reimburse, the payment made to them, so lawyers authorised to continue the negotiation, it came down to 12 million dollars.

His hand over note ready by January 2001.

Akufo-Addo, then Attorney General, called him somewhere February 2001 that he wanted to know the status of the case. He wrote a brief bout it which he set out in details the whole processes so far including the fact that lawyers insisted that certain documents should be made available without parts being blanked out. He informed Nana that SG had denied offering any kind of advice in these matters, which was contradictory. GNPC has evidence that SG lied, he said. Later learnt that AG asked GNPC to submit all materials and documents to the A-G’s office - taking over the case

SG initiated some steps to have the drill ship brought into USA while working in Mexico, but were not successful.

Also highlighted in his brief was the fact that that SG were willing to settle less than what they were claiming.

Asked if he kept a copy of the brief, he said the computer he worked with was stolen from his house under strange circumstance.

It is public knowledge, at a point in August Kan Dapaah, Energy Minister, he said, launched an attack on him and made a number of allegations, including receiving monies from societe Generale and also taken some documents belonging to GNPC away. September 6, 2001 held a press conference upon his return to the country and responded – he denied the allegations. The reality of the matter is that Dapaah rather indicated that SG has no basis against the GNPC nor the state – more reasons government shouldn’t claim liability because Dapaah claimed the money was given to him, Tsikata.

Without wanting to indulge you in a pointless catechism,let me simply point out to you and other supporters of this obvious 'monstrous' fraudulent transaction that even a principal architect like KT Hammond,a self-acclaimed senior partner in the law firm of Constance and Constance(can folks smell something fishy in the decision to retain this 'high-powered firm),had to rely on a 65-page "God sed" document,which mysterously appeared in his parliamentary mail slot,to "vindicate" his claims. So what is perplexing or unusual about Tsitaka not being able to furnish the commisssion with a copy of a brief he willingly provided to the then Atty-General,Nana Addo. Let Akuffo Addo come out and deny the forthright and candid testimony we all heard this a.m! And btw,did Dr. Ofori Quaah,the erstwhile NPP administration`s replacement for Tsikata,not testify some months ago that he also provided key information to the AG`s office?
Why was the case pending in court scuttled,paving the way for SG to secure a default judgement,which, by the way, came about under the NPP`s watch.

If we care to really learn the truth in any issue, we should focus on the raw facts and logical circumstances that emanates from that issue, instead of attempting to silence others with insults.

This case has 2 parts to it. One concerns the legitimacy of our indebtedness to SG. The other concerns where the remainder of the proceeds from the sale, some $3.5 million, went.

We need to be bold but fair in getting to the bottom of the case. The insults do not help.

Even the then candidates, who's years back in opposition, could barely raise enough money for filing fees, but 2008 that time around were splashing billions of cedis in a desperate bid to buy the conscience of party delegates. The display of opulence, in a nation still grappling with poverty and underdevelopment, was so disgusting that even some sympathizers of the then ruling NPP again and again questioned the source of the monies available to various candidates. Let's even assume there was judgement of $47m against GNPC and there was negotiation to settle out of court, do you genuinely believe that Societe Generale will accept less than half of total amount involved from $47m -$19.5m= $$27.5m difference? And the reason why Socite Generale accepted such an amount is because according to Tsikata, they even lost the case on appeal. So just as NPP and Ghana came along as Santa Claus/Father Christmas presenting gifts of $19.5m so that both will gain at end of the day, SG had no choice than to accept without any question. The whole fraud was manufactured in Akufo Addo's Chambers, approved in the Castle and delivered into the accounts of the partipatory parties. Thank you.

Tsastu Tsikata and the P-NDC sought to discover Oil in commercial quantities. Having records of the Seismic Data of our Ocean Beds, hopes were high that Ghana was sitting on huge reserves of the product beneath so the then govt. decided to go for loans to facilitate the finding process. It wasn't a bad idea! The project didn't succeed mainly because Tsikata started mis-appropriating the loans by diverting the monies into his personal projects, hoping that the could be "good news" in the next few weeks or months. It was never to be!

Enter ex-Prez. Kuffour's govt. and in just few years in power, re-organized his men, made the right connections esp. by bringing COSMOS Energy which we the major players when the Oil was first detected during late Gen. Acheampong's time. The two gentlemen, who had helped make this dream possible were dragged to court by NDC. Their crime was for being Akans (Ashantis) and agents of the whole project or business transaction. Can anyone with clear mind point out any wrong doing when one becomes an agent in deals or transactions like these? If anyone is in doubt he/she should contact the World Trade Organization for clarification and guidance.

The AFRC/P-NDC is a bunch of envious and wicked people. They came into power accusing all Akans for strange reasons. I've always pointed this out here on Ghanaweb, not incite people or cause confusion, but to tell the Gospel truth as things happened in those years. For those who witnessed how Akans in high Govt. Establishments the Army, Police, Customs and other Security Agencies were targeted and treated will bear me out. Many Ghanaians will recall those dreadful scenes.

Why do I have to narrate these things? It's just for the fact that we have to solve this problem of hatred and envy that's eating away our country's bond or unity. Some groups of people think they're
"untouchables" and have the right to do whatever they want in the country. Like embezzling state funds, corruption, election fraud etc. These very people turn around and shout out loud that others should be watched because they're corrupt and thieves. People should think about Tsatstu Tsikata and his gang of rulers who happily killed everyone they perceived to be corrupt, chanting slogans through their cadres (PDCs, WDCs People's Milita) etc. Tsikata, Victor Serlomey, Kwame Peprah are good examples criminals among many others whose names didn't pop up for prosecution because Kuffour's govt. didn't have all the time to do that.

Now let's talk about Alfred Agbesi Woyome's judgement debt payment too. It's unprecedented in Ghana's political history for anyone or company to be paid such gargantuan sum of money for virtually no work done! The kind of fraud and corruption associated with the AFRC/P-NDC govt. since they metamorphosed or transmogrified into a political party is never before known or experienced in Ghana. Yet they sent people to their graves and confiscated assets and or businesses for alleged corruption.

Interestingly, Tsatsu Tsikata, the very man who was jailed along with others and pardoned by ex-Prez. Kuffour when he feigned "ill health" would be courageous enough to tell funny stories at the hearing today.

"Wonders, our elders say, "will never end." We looking at a "tiiif" telling Ghanaians that he probably knows better when it comes to collecting debts, when it's obvious that he was the one who caused Ghana to pay up our debt to the French Bank. Was Tsatsu Tsikata aware of the loss of revenues to the state on monthly basis while the Drill Ship was still being kept in our shores? It took Kuffrou's govt. 6-7yrs to make the Oil dream possible.

My little research into the Oil industry, first as a Machinist working with one of the biggest manufacturers of Oil pumps, and currently a trucker hauling the crude reveals that sinking one Oil well on land, costs, US $1 million. It's quite different when the product is off-shore. A Drill Ship like what GNPC contracted on behalf of Ghana could cost in excess of US $100,000/day = US 3million/month. Folks should do their own diligence; don't take my figures. I'm making providing these figures because I'm trying to make things clear!

We should try as much as possible to be honest with ourselves and others. The lies, hate and propaganda that's going on in Ghana is gradually tearing us apart; people don't want to talk about it. But I bet that earlier we talked or discussed about it, the better it would be for us and our nation's progress.

Tsatsu Tsikata and his gang of criminal should spare us the hypocricy and hype, as if they're above everyone else. The blood of those were dragged to their graves shouldn't be in vain. Ghanaians deserve better than what is happening to them right now. Enough of the lies and corruption.
