Were copies of the "CONDUCT OF A MINISTER" given to: Fiifi Kwortey , Kwaakye, Ablakwa, Ayariga, Murtala and Nii Lante? "That a minister or political appointee must “conduct himself/herself with dignity and refrain from engaging in acts of rudeness and disrespect, ensure his/her communication is courteous, take reasonable care to maintain the integrity and reputation of the ministerial office and be willing to give and accept constructive criticisms to and from his/her colleagues, and from the general public.” I DOUBT THAT THESE CROOKS HAVE COPIES. ndc is trying to make us all foolishly believe that this is all about partisan politics but in reality its a feudal system of governance based on tribalism and ethnic affiliation . there is no partisan politics rather anti Akan movements , north/ south and east/ west divisions . it is the truth and everyone first asks what tribe does someone belong to before they even consider the substance of what was said . yes we have gone back not decades but centuries . personally i do not care who rules as long as they endeavor to do some good and secure sustainable development and jobs for our people irrespective of tribe , ethnic pedigree , religion or social status but that being said i know its impossible due to hegemony and chauvinistic religious tribalism not forgetting the opportunism of the satellite groups like the Gas and krobos. no matter how good the plan i remain pessimistic and realize everything will fail in this climate of greed , selfishness and no direction . ITS ALL ABOUT TRIBAL POLITICS SO WATCH YOUR BACK

Too much partisanship is killing the country. This is true because most of the MPs we elect do not understand politics. It is my suggestion that, there should be a special mass education in the country on how to chose a befitting leader and a representative to guide the people in all elections. REMEDIAL CLASSES MUST also be organized for our MPs to understand politics. why they are there, how to serve the country better, and what the country expects from them as wll as needs from them. I belief this is one sure way to educate our MPs and to reduce too much partisanship in our parliament

Why has politics destroyed our moral conscience these days? That 10% is enough to do something. If Pratt can give 10% of what he earn to an orphanage, it will not make him poor but he won't. Why is the NPP MPs crying not to do it? Wise up because we love you more than the certificate-less Kweku Baako who no classmates nor conscience but a stooge for NPP.

Giving a tithe goes back to ancient times. To as far back as biblical times. From Genesis to Deutoronomy, ones comes across instances of tithes. What we should be concerned about is our President shouldn't make it a habit of using the Bible to make policy decisions.

i'm trying to understand Kwesi Pratt. At first I thought he was a knee jerk apologist of the NDC who despised anything that the NPP favoured.
Grant it, I have only been studying him for just short of three years, but I am starting to see a more independent mind than i originally thought. He is not a thoughtless partisan. Grant it, i don't agree with many of the things he says, but the very fact that he seems to apply independent judgment to all sides is a welcome trait in a journalist.
I think what he is getting at here is that the 10 percent reduction in executive salary is insignificant because, 1) as far as it is supposed to communicate a symbol of sacrifice it fails because it isn't much of a sacrifice. Any Ghanaian who is awake will know that the executive have their ways of making money. And ten percent of their formal salary is insignificant when compared against their actual earnings. 2) Also, the ten percent reduction is too small to make a meaningful difference in the deteriorating finances of the state. Ghana is in financial trouble people. And it needs a lot more than a symbolic gesture. But where we thirst for transformative policies, we are being fed symbols. To use a worn out African cliche, "can we eat symbols?"

This government should spend less time thinking up clever propaganda and more time coming up with clever solutions to our problems.
To often, in the face of serious challenges, this government responds with propaganda rather than policies that will actually address the problems. It seems that where we see growing poverty, failing institutions, (you know the list) they only see a bad image of their party. So they feed us with propaganda to keep up political support. But that is growing tired. You are the government. Please govern!!! And if you do not know, governance is not a communications exercise. You're actually supposed to mobilize us, as a people, along with our resources, to solve our collective problems and achieve our collective goals. Besides, the best propaganda is success in addressing our substantive police challenges. If they cannot do see this? of if they can see this but aren't clever enough to act on it, then my people, we need to be a bit smarter, and a bit more ambitious in 2016. Don't you agree?

Onipaba, the word mobilization does not resonate in the mind of these fools governing the country. Just yesterday an article titled 'Veep Woos Kuwait Investors' under Business section. That senseless of a person - Amissah-Arthur went on to say that Bahrain Investors could come and use our huge track of land for food and raw materials production to feed local and foreign manufacturing concerns. He went on to say that Ghana boast of major rivers which the investors could use for irrigation purposes to enhance agriculture.
With all other natural resources and what Amissah-Arthur boasted about at our grasp, what do we need again? Just agricultural implements to till the land and water pumping machines and pipelines for the irrigation puposes which any sensible government could provide. The remaining is manpower which we have it in abundance.
Under the Leadership of late General Kutu Acheampong of blessed memory, a Commercial School Graduate, he was able to appoint meaningful individuals who mobilized the people and executed the Operation Feed Yourself Programme to a success. You cannot get such foresighted individuals any more than those who claimed to be holders of invaluable MSc's and PhD's who are using their paper qualifications to loot and do disservice to the nation.

I hope you are not that stupid to follow the status quo who always think inside the box rather than thinking outside also.
Get the fact Mahama don't pay taxes on his salaries and allowances which he draws at the expense of the tax payer. The 10% contribution is nothing comparing to what importers and other folks who live in diaspora pays when they bring something home.
Just consume the following tax obligation of someone who brings in a car of six years old and with 2.3 engine size: - 10% Import Duty; 15% VAT; 2.5% NHIL (National Health INs. Levy); 0.5% Ecowas Import Duty; 0.5% EDIF( Export Development Fund);1% Examination Fee; Shippers Fee; 2% Special Import Levy (introduced by Mahama) recently; (Remember that the above charges are calculated on 50% depreciation value of the Vehicles Dealer Price)plus Freight and Insurance Charges added to; Interest Charge; Network Charge; NetCharge VAT; NetCharge NHIL; Shipping & Handling (which is of astronomical figure); 1-month (number Plate at GHC82.00); Agent charges and maybe finally Customs Documentation fee of GHC100.00
You see the taxes which an average Ghanaian in diaspora pays when he brings in 1-vehicle mentioned above. What your Mahama is going to contribute is nothing but a slap on the tax payers face. There is a proverb in Akan which says (Se wo wo awo pa a wo hwe nkwan pa). If voters have not stick to tribal politics, partisanship and political illiteracy whcih is serious in the country, beleive you and me this government of Mahama would not have been elected to display such corrupt and incompetency.

KWESI PRATT MIGHT BE RIGHT BE I THINK IT IS SIGNIFICANT IN A WAY THAT THEY SHOW THE WAY FOR ONE TO MAKE A SACRIFICE FOR THE NATION.
We the tax payers pay for everything!!
They do not pay for anything but always get fat allowances which are often better than the salaries!! The free petrol must be taken away so the wage bill can be reduced drastically!!
Kwasi, you are part of the problems in Ghana. Tell Ghanaians one sacrificial thing that you have done for this nation. Take 10% of your income every month for four years and see if it will not be enough to build a library in ...

All our ruling elites, including our paramount chiefs should take a 25% pay cut to develop the nation.
Kwesi, I like your arguments, but as for this one you hit below the belt. Can you imagine what will happen to Ghana if everybody thinks about sacrificing this way. Thumps up Mahama.
Ant way you slice it, 10% is a drop in the ocean. President of Malawi cut is 30%.

A poor executive as Mr Kwesi Pratt thinks will be not be effective. The privileges given public officials are meant to help them do their work effectively. 10% cut in salary is therefore very significant.
