Mawuli Hedo used to be a staff member at Strategic African Securities, a company owned by Togbe Afede.
All of a sudden, the chap has enough liquidity to acquire TV3 and Merchant Bank, that should tell you something.
Togbe Afede is the Board Chair of the Bank of Ghana. This is a clear case of conflict of interest. He is using all these little peons like Hedo as a smokescreen.
Soon enough his cup will be full.

People are not supposed to be forced to do things against their will. As this write-up says, the company ownership has challenged and so also will be its direction. You can talk about ethics and whatever but at the end of the day the one who put in monies to acquire the station has to make decisions to protect their investment. Employees also have their rights which include resignation. I do not know what this writer is seeking to achieve by this post. You may be one of the aggrieved ones, why you are aggrieved, I do not know because you may have already exercised your rights in resigning. Whether the station has been turned into a breeding ground for journalists or not shouldn't be your concern because it is not your money that is being wasted. You do not decide on how the company should be run as an employee. It is an opportunity for others to step in when others leave

you have brought your concerns to the public domain. Thank you. However, we will also wait for the leaders to come out with theirs before we can make any serious comments. One thing I have realized since I came to Ghana is that most Ghanaian workers are lazy and would not like instructions and directions. They behave as if the work is their bona fide property. You want Public to sympathy, it will not work. Work hard and you will be maintained period.

If it is laziness why didn't it happen under the old managers? Why is it not happening with other stations. By the way is it the same Mawuli Hedo mentioned in the Merchant bank deal? Asem beba dabi.

One thing I have also learnt since I came to Ghana is that in Ghana, managers and owners of companies always cheat their workers and pay them salaries which are way below slave wages. Most workers in this day and age are paid as little as GHC80 to GHC200 for a whole month. Most of these so-called private sector business-owners dont even pay the taxes and social security deductions of their workers to the respective institutions at all.
Now if this is not criminal, it is sinful. The pay and working conditions of Ghanaian workers is the greatest disincentive to work that I can think of.
The stark truth of the situation is that, whether they are lazy or not, Ghanaian workers in reality, put in more work than what they are paid.
Yet these equally lazy and inept business owners expect these same workers, who do virtually all of their work for them, to work as much as or more than European and American workers who earn as much as $18 AN HOUR.
So my friend who is cheating who? You better sanitize your mind from that imperialist slave owner mentality if you know what is good for you. Otherwise, if the kitchen is too hot, you know what to do, reach for your passport and get the hell back to Babylon.

I am happy TV3 got rid of people like you and Roland Walker who could not hide his political colours when hosting programmes.
The current staff is doing well and many Ghanaians still prefer TV3 to others.
