I do not blame her so much for not using her own brand name (I am not saying she is right in imitating Unilever) BUT Ghanaians are "one plug" we like big names, Sony, JVC Heinz bake Beans etc though other products in the same line would be of the same quality and cheaper . Most made in Ghana shoes, are of high quality and being offered for sale in Boutiques across the country but guess what? labeled as made in Italy. Our mentality. who would want to buy a shoe with a label, 'made in Ghana'? BUT we buy without knowing.
A BIT OF DEVIATION FROM THE QUESTION AT STAKE. see below
I wanted to buy Usb Pen Drives (from China) to sell in Ghana some few years ago. One manufacturer in China told me that if I tell them the brand I want, they would just stick/print the name on there for me - and also can extend 1GB to appear as 4GB. I did not go ahead with the order for many reasons. there are good and bad manufacturers in China.
Most of us Ghanaian think that Chinese product are not good, hmm, asem ooo?
here in the UK, many products originate from China - TVs, PCs, DVDs to mention but a few. but they are of high quality. Ghanaians who import from China, wants quantity over over quality so they buy the cheapest - which do not last. A phone imported from China to Ghana, would be about 150 Ghc whereas a similar phone, imported to the UK, would be about twice that price because the UK exporter want quality and every item sold here, has a 12 months manufacturer warranty whereas in Ghana "Items once sold, cannot be returned or exchange" so Ghanaian importers, would capitalise on this and milk Ghanaian

This 'poor lady' is making money for HERSELF and should therefore follow the rules by having her products approved by the FDA. If she wasn't being malicious, why would she use Uniliver's label? All over the world countries are clamping down on fake products because people who imitate other people's product do not go through the same stringent procedure and laid down rules. This woman could have her own label and manufacture her products. She is looking for a quick buck at the expense of innocent Ghanaians. We should allow the laws of this land to work or else we will continue to wallow in mediocrity thinking that we don't deserve the best for us and our children. TSOOOBOI, FDA do your job!

Great at least we have one sector of the economy that looks like its working. Dr Opuni and his team must be congratulated for the good job. Its a drop in the ocean but it will grow and Ghanaians will get the message that impunity cannot be compromised. Please FDA, don't allow your detractors to win, for this fight is winnable. Education and transparency should be part of your fight. You will have 'demented' Ghanaians who will try to affiliate you with a political party etc, but you are doing a great job for the ordinary Ghanaian who doesn't have a voice or muscle. God will strengthen you all!

Leave the poor woman alone. What she is producing are not ingestible drugs so cannot be very serious. Go after those producing bitters, kooko and other drugs that have no dosages, side effects and contra indications. Ghana officers only pick on poor people. Help her to register. May be we can learn one or two from her. Agya Appiah bitters which is a registered one is nothing but bogus medicine.
