Good leaders act; they do not wait to react to situations. Ghanaians will have difficulty electing another President from the geo-political north which the President and myself come from for more than thirty years after he has left office should this President fail to fight corruption, abuse of office and impunity in obedience to our ancestors and God during his tenure of office. Mark my words!

From the President down to deputy ministers includimg Parliamentarians received more than 100% pay increase about a year ago and made it retroactively to the previous year. That meant they got another past year increament paid.

What we need Mahama to do is to stop providing housing, free petrol and electricity to all these Politicians and let them find their own accommodation and pay for them like all Ghamaians do. It is past time to do away with this archaic and colonial mentality of free housing and amenities to Politicians. The Brits who planted this slave mentality into our heads do not provide free housing to their ministers and Parliamentarians. Let them cut 50% of their pay.

There is a reason or root causes for the many judgment debts that has been brought forth and won in the courts of Ghana against the Ghana government. Instead of Martin Amidu and or others take a look at the root causes the rest of society continue to give Martin Amidu the platform to sell his snake oil to Ghana's tribal and partisan zealots who could give a darn about logical thought processes and or truths about our failures.
None of the companies involved in the judgment debt saga woke up one day, without cause, and proceeded to file legal briefs against the government of Ghana. These companies were all presumably approached by people representing various departments of the Ghana government. Yes these businesses were hungry for money and thus accepted in good faith verbal/oral contracts and fulfilled, to some extent, their obligation based on the oral contracts. If Martin Amidu wants to play hero he must go after those government agents who made initial and subsequent contacts with each of these companies to initiate those oral contracts on behalf of the Ghana government. Ghanaians with moral integrity and or principles must not allow people to steal from companies in the name of the government by hiding behind parliament. Did those government representatives who made those initial contacts with each of these companies not know or aware of parliamentary prior approvals?
The supreme court of Ghana does not rule on societal morals. Martin Amidu won on a technical issue of whether or not the individual companies had written and binding contracts with the government of Ghana? Naturally the Supreme Court said no. However what Martin, the crusader of the wing nuts, should do is go to court and find out from the justices if an oral agreement between two parties constitutes a contract and the courts in their infinite wisdom will say oral contract are binding as well if something of value exchanges hand between the two parties.
