The fight against corruption, abuse of power and impunity must be proactive and not reactive. We do not need to wait to be charged with poor leadership in fighting it before reacting in seeking to show leadership where we had all the opportunity but failed to be proactive.

Good leaders act; they do not wait to react to situations. Ghanaians will have difficulty electing another President from the geo-political north which the President and myself come from for more than thirty years after he has left office should this President fail to fight corruption, abuse of office and impunity in obedience to our ancestors and God during his tenure of office. Mark my words!

Instead for NPP Parliamentarians to remain on their seats and reasonably arguing why increasing VAT at this time will not help Ghanaians, NPP Parliamentarians chose to walk-out and went home to sleep in anger - what were they expecting from the NDC Majority?

NPP is the Minority, so the fact that they had walked out didn't mean NDC was crippled. And they went ahead to enact the law as they had wanted to do.

NPP Parliamentarians have lost their purpose for going to Parliament. They fill a very important position to defend the ordinary Ghanaian through debates and opposing any unreasonable laws but NPP, instead, has chosen, "walking away in anger", as the solution to Ghana's problems.

I think NPP Parliamentarians are rather failing Ghanaians and the respective Constituencies that brought those NPP Parliamentarians to Parliament.

What we know to be true in our legislature is that a majority of them there think only of their political future and fortunes but not the good the entire citizenry. A bunch of rubber-stamp majority MPs. There's nothing actually honorable about most of them. The Executive is no better.

After NPP had demonstrated against the VAT increase during Rawlings NDC, immediately the NPP came into power under Kufour, they increased the same VAT increament they had earlier vehemently and aggreesively opposed with the term KUMIPREKU.

Is it not the same foolishness and childish village mentality that they are exhibiting again? Have they forgotten the way they handled the VODAFONE affairs where they totally refused to listen to any little idea coming from the Opposition NDC that time.?
