Why increase VAT or tax when there is a lot of waste in the system? What money can't Ghana get from the ports and harbours if the massive corruption going on there is eliminated or reduced to a minimum? How are the road tolls being collected daily at the Kasoa corridor and elsewhere being accounted for? Government should alleviate the burden on the citizenry instead of aggravating it. I suggest the proposed increase should be stopped and all loopholes in the system sealed. In so doing, Ghana can be self-sufficient financially.

In these countries, the governments have created jobs for the people. Many in Singapore and in USA are are salary workers or earners and can afford taxes. How about Ghana where very few are salary workers? Look at the number of unemployed in our country, and look again at our peasant farmers who live in our villages and see income once in a year. You can always tell from their erratic choices of people to assume the highest positions of responsibility, be it Vickie Hammer, Hannah Bissiw, Ablakwa Okudjeto or many others who do not qualify for their slots.

An increase of such magnitude must be a debatable issue with Trade Unions, business circles, parliamentarians and the ordinary folks in the consttuencies. Waking up one day to think fit for the entire nation to bear an extra burden of frivilous increase in tax is not a proper way to govern with respect.

The Minority was right because Majority keeps increasing Taxis for their own selfish interests not for the good people of Ghana.I am urging the good people of Ghana to remain calm In sha-Alah whatever the increment is it will get to an end.Every reasonable person in this country knows very well that NDC cannot rule the anymore an for that matter every Ghanaian should delegate their votes to NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP)in 2016 general election.I wish a good people of Ghana long lives, thank you.

The govt know the TUC is a pack of empty heads hence they reduce electricity tariffs and converted it to VAT. With VAT every Ghanaian is going to pay unlike electricity where only users pay. Cheating govt.
